Hee, when we ran into my great Aunt Nancy at the hospital visiting Auntie the other day, she told us some pretty freakin' hilarious things about my family history, that neither Mom nor I knew. Well, aside from the not-too-funny fact that my great-grandparents' name was changed at Ellis Island, so we're not really descended from the Frey clan of Norway. We're still from Norway, but we ain't no Freys. Nance is currently digging around to find out their real name. Then the foolishness began. Apparently my great-grandfather was a bigger man-whore than Charlie Sheen. One time in New York in the 1910's he was being paid to fix up some socialite's house. Well, he took a roll in the hay with her, knocked her up, and he and my poor great-grandmother were disgraced and forced to flee the city to avoid legal issues. So right there, I have a great aunt or uncle I have never met, and who knows how many more. Then, in the 20's he had an illegal booze operation running out of his barn and got busted for that. One time he got smashed and hit a horse with his old-school 1918 Ford and that forced him to quit drinking cold-turkey. Then there were a bunch of other naughty shenanigan-related stories that made Mom and I pee ourselves...Auntie, being one of the eldest of the family, knew all this, but was too humiliated and ashamed to share it with the younger crew. Nancy found out from Great-Aunt Ruth. It's a shame that Auntie was embarrassed by it; I think it's hysterical. :)
Anyhoo...I've got the day off from the daycare center, so I'm sitting for Gen while she takes Brenden to his psychologist in Boston. The twins are being great, knock on wood. We're watching "James and the Giant Peach"...hee. And oh yeah, GEN BOUGHT THEM A NEW GUINEA PIG, MAY GOD HAVE MERCY ON IT'S POOR LITTLE LIFE!!!!!! For fuck's sake, some people just NEVER learn. *sigh*.
Anyway. I'm off to start lunch. We're take the babies to the carnival tonight, yay!
