1. A no brainer: when we met, you were the first girl I'd ever spoken to who knew anything about Baudelaire, mythology, and had a wicked taste for decadence, yet could actually paint very well! Inspiring.
2. cracked earth in a powerful dream, an ash-white face opening. field of bones. you know the reference. I will always remember that.
3. You are brutally open. I respect that immensely. Also, this year, you have become more positive than I've ever seen you. It's nice to see.
4. Not sure why (I have many to choose from), but this one came to mind. In the old studio (not in our house, the other one). You were wearing those amazingly parchment-toned heels. And...hm...not sure, but possibly you Warhol shirt? Doesn't matter except the color of those shoes against that filthy paint-speckled gray floor caught the suicide-windows' light in a striking way, and you started spinning on one of those gray stools. Your shoes were throwing weird shadows everywhere, and later that day, many people in the class painted with those colors. Probably without realizing why.
5. That's a tough one. you share a lot. Okay. Do you think you will ever move far away?
6. um...memory problem. No idea anymore which photos were avatars...sorry.
#4 is a great memory. I didn't know it happened that way. Of course only you could have seen it. You bring forward the things most people file away in the back of their minds.
Glad I am becoming more positive. I think the secret is to laugh at yourself when you are sad. Crying, laughing, what is the difference?
