Brainstorm 19 Con't

Oct 02, 2010 08:31

The Island has started to change since yesterday. Maybe you've noticed. It's getting a little bit colder. The sun is setting a little bit earlier every night. The leaves on the trees are starting to look a little less green. Pumpkins and dried stalks of corn were starting to appear in corners. What better way to enjoy them than a warm fire and all ( Read more... )

JUST ON THE OUTSKIRTS OF THE PARTY salkia_mods October 2 2010, 12:32:10 UTC
Open to anyone, if you think you can get him to talk~ shutupandduelme October 2 2010, 12:40:40 UTC
He wasn't supposed to be there, and Kaiba made sure anyone who went near him saw it on his face. He had bee sitting standing about 100 feet away or so, safely out of the line of socialization, expecting Kia not to come. Once he saw her though, all previous laid plans were off.

For the moment, he's lingering in the darker part of the party, standing in the back with his arms crossed and watching their captor. He made no concession to the weather, as usual, still sticking to his trenchcoat, belts, and long sleeved black shirt underneath. His expression was cold and distant, focused on the girl instead of anything that might have been next to him.

This wasn't a party to him. Anyone who caught sight of him would know it on sight.

Nill had just arrived, more out of curiosity to what it was rather than to socialize. It wasn't really something she was used to, anyway, despite the small socializing she had done with Atem or Madotsuki or anyone else she had come across.

It was quite dark, and her eyes were still adjusting when BAM. She bumped into a tall figure that just happened to appear out of nowhere (at least for her, anyway, he could have obviously been there and she hadn't seen him).

Kaiba growled and stood his ground, turning to shoot a glare at whoever dared run into him.

"Pay attention, fool," he snapped, not really in the mood to have his vision obscured at the moment.

hopefully nill will win him over somehow candiedwings October 2 2010, 19:56:17 UTC
Nill jumped, swallowing hard and looking up at the tall man in front of her as she took a step back. Flustered, she held her wings closer to her back as means of protection of sorts. Kind of. Even if it didn't work out like that.

She squeaked, shaking her head and mouthing "Sorry." However, strangely, she didn't make any movement to run away or even go towards the bonfire at all. This person seemed harsh on the outside, but really ... there was something else. She could sense it. But she did know when to stop interacting, at least completely, so she moved to stand beside him, looking up at him expectantly.

Kaiba rolled his eyes at the murmured (it must have been, if he couldn't hear her.) apology and turned back to glare at Kia. He dismissed the fluttering around the girl as an anomaly, something he didn't have time to worry about as their captor was moving around so openly. What was she planning? She had never been at these parties before. Why start now?

But as his mind worked, the brunet slowly became aware that not only had the girl who had run into him not left, she was actually staring at him. Swallowing another growl, he turned his head just an inch so he could look at her out of the corner of his eye.

"What do you want?" he asked, hoping to get it out of the way and get rid of her before her presence really started grating on his nerves.

we'll get through this ok candiedwings October 2 2010, 20:15:24 UTC
Nill shook her head and smiled, increasing the distance between them to about five or six feet. This was like dealing with Heine when she first met him, she just had talk to ...er, relate to him gradually. She was used to this kind of behavior, and that was why he didn't really scare her that much.

And so she stood her ground, looking up at him innocently, her wings relaxing a bit more to their normal length. Of course, her standing her ground didn't mean that she couldn't feel the immense feeling of annoyance that he felt for her.

The distance helped a little. Kaiba hated being cornered or approached by people. If they caught him at the wrong time, it was Gozaburo's teachings all over again, with the tutors and the maids taking out punishment on him. He would never be so solely focused on one thing without being aware of his surroundings again, but it did leave him feeling uneasy every time he was approached too closely.

Even so, the girl was still looking at him, for reasons unknown. The scowl remained on Kaiba's face. Absently, his gaze flicked over her, resting on her wings for a long time before turning back to Kia. So this girl was some sort of alien or person with powers. Wonderful. He had never had a particularly good experience with any of them.

After a few more moments of his attempt at ignoring her, his posture stiffened. "Either you want something, or you can stare at someone else. I don't have time for this," he growled in warning.

Nill took the warning, and instead of staring at him, she remembered that he had been staring at someone else, and she looked off into that direction, only to see a girl. A girl? She glanced back at him, then back at the girl, curious about the relationship between the two of them, but it's not like she was going to ask about it.

She let out a soft sigh. It was kind of nice, even if he was sending her get out of here signals, the quiet was relaxing, and she didn't have to worry about communicating too much.

However, she did want to get to know him. She knew there was another side to his cold exterior, so she took out the LP, typed in a few words, but hesitated in handing it to him because she was a bit nervous as to what he would do with it.

Kaiba's eyes narrowed as the winged girl glanced back and forth between him and Kia. She didn't recognize the younger girl? Hadn't every one seen their captor by now? He sighed. Even better, he was dealing with a new idiot.

He might have gone on to trying to ignore her again, if she hadn't pulled out her LP. He watched out of the corner of his eye. Reading a comment or a text message, perhaps? His scowl lightened slightly. Maybe Kagome had been flailing at her too about how evil he was.

Slowly, Nill held out the LP towards him. It read, "What's your name?"

Hopefully, he'd get the message that she had no voice and therefore couldn't speak to him properly. If she could, she definitely would. So, she waited patiently for his reaction. Even if he didn't tell her his name, she was okay with that. It was his choice, after all.

Blue eyes angled down to the LP then back up to her. That was an unusual way of communicating, and it was unlikely the Island was the cause. Certainly this girl didn't look like she was capable of doing anything that would get her punished.

Still. The question was harmless enough. She would find out his name eventually over the NETWORK. It came up often enough.

"Kaiba Seto. President and CEO of Kaiba Corporation, though I will assume you have not heard of us," he said, almost automatically. It was his usual answer for any one on Salkia.

Nill shook her head, smiling while withdrawing the LP and letting out a small, content sigh before typing in her name along with a "Nice to meet you." and holding the LP back out towards Kaiba again.

Kaiba was a nice name, and it certainly suited him. She smiled, looking up at him and directly into his eyes, showing no fear of him.

"Of course not," Kaiba muttered dryly. It was annoying, certainly. What good was a name and a title if no one recognized it? He had given up his childhood as well as sweat and blood for it, and ultimately was getting back nothing, here. He sighed, frustrated. He needed to go home.

But the girl was still looking at him, even smiling at him now, and it put him on edge. Kaiba looked down his nose at her, unimpressed, before turning to look at Kia again.

"She's the one you should be hovering around," he remarked. "Perhaps she might even care for your presence."

She shook her head again, her smile even brighter than before. No, she was okay like this, in fact, she even liked him a little more than she did before. Yes, this was a bit different from how she and Heine first met, but it was similar in a few ways.

She bit her lower lip for a second, glancing to the girl that he mentioned before looking back to him. After all, if he had really wanted to rid her of him he could just walk away himself. So why wasn't he?

She mouthed a small "sorry" again before rocking back on her heels childishly.

This was his spot. He was here first. He sure as hell was better than her. Kaiba Seto was not going to move for some foolish little girl. He could make her move, and had been trying for the past five minutes. Obviously, he noted as she rocked, he needed to try harder.

"I wasn't aware our captor was in the habit of pulling in three year olds," he remarked coolly.
