The Island has started to change since yesterday. Maybe you've noticed. It's getting a little bit colder. The sun is setting a little bit earlier every night. The leaves on the trees are starting to look a little less green. Pumpkins and dried stalks of corn were starting to appear in corners. What better way to enjoy them than a warm fire and all

For the moment, he's lingering in the darker part of the party, standing in the back with his arms crossed and watching their captor. He made no concession to the weather, as usual, still sticking to his trenchcoat, belts, and long sleeved black shirt underneath. His expression was cold and distant, focused on the girl instead of anything that might have been next to him.
This wasn't a party to him. Anyone who caught sight of him would know it on sight.

It was quite dark, and her eyes were still adjusting when BAM. She bumped into a tall figure that just happened to appear out of nowhere (at least for her, anyway, he could have obviously been there and she hadn't seen him).

"Pay attention, fool," he snapped, not really in the mood to have his vision obscured at the moment.

She squeaked, shaking her head and mouthing "Sorry." However, strangely, she didn't make any movement to run away or even go towards the bonfire at all. This person seemed harsh on the outside, but really ... there was something else. She could sense it. But she did know when to stop interacting, at least completely, so she moved to stand beside him, looking up at him expectantly.

But as his mind worked, the brunet slowly became aware that not only had the girl who had run into him not left, she was actually staring at him. Swallowing another growl, he turned his head just an inch so he could look at her out of the corner of his eye.
"What do you want?" he asked, hoping to get it out of the way and get rid of her before her presence really started grating on his nerves.

And so she stood her ground, looking up at him innocently, her wings relaxing a bit more to their normal length. Of course, her standing her ground didn't mean that she couldn't feel the immense feeling of annoyance that he felt for her.

Even so, the girl was still looking at him, for reasons unknown. The scowl remained on Kaiba's face. Absently, his gaze flicked over her, resting on her wings for a long time before turning back to Kia. So this girl was some sort of alien or person with powers. Wonderful. He had never had a particularly good experience with any of them.
After a few more moments of his attempt at ignoring her, his posture stiffened. "Either you want something, or you can stare at someone else. I don't have time for this," he growled in warning.

She let out a soft sigh. It was kind of nice, even if he was sending her get out of here signals, the quiet was relaxing, and she didn't have to worry about communicating too much.
However, she did want to get to know him. She knew there was another side to his cold exterior, so she took out the LP, typed in a few words, but hesitated in handing it to him because she was a bit nervous as to what he would do with it.

He might have gone on to trying to ignore her again, if she hadn't pulled out her LP. He watched out of the corner of his eye. Reading a comment or a text message, perhaps? His scowl lightened slightly. Maybe Kagome had been flailing at her too about how evil he was.

Hopefully, he'd get the message that she had no voice and therefore couldn't speak to him properly. If she could, she definitely would. So, she waited patiently for his reaction. Even if he didn't tell her his name, she was okay with that. It was his choice, after all.

Still. The question was harmless enough. She would find out his name eventually over the NETWORK. It came up often enough.
"Kaiba Seto. President and CEO of Kaiba Corporation, though I will assume you have not heard of us," he said, almost automatically. It was his usual answer for any one on Salkia.

Kaiba was a nice name, and it certainly suited him. She smiled, looking up at him and directly into his eyes, showing no fear of him.

But the girl was still looking at him, even smiling at him now, and it put him on edge. Kaiba looked down his nose at her, unimpressed, before turning to look at Kia again.
"She's the one you should be hovering around," he remarked. "Perhaps she might even care for your presence."

She bit her lower lip for a second, glancing to the girl that he mentioned before looking back to him. After all, if he had really wanted to rid her of him he could just walk away himself. So why wasn't he?
She mouthed a small "sorry" again before rocking back on her heels childishly.

"I wasn't aware our captor was in the habit of pulling in three year olds," he remarked coolly.
