A walk. He just needed to go for a walk. With having work to deal with, it had to be on his break, but luckily for him, he was pretty quick on his feet. He just needed to be away from everyone and the entire situation he'd gotten himself into. But where to do that?

Why not the beach. It was where he'd ended up eventually. It was calming, to say the least, enough to let him alone with his thoughts. Enough to keep him away from the prying population of Salkia.

He hadn't expected to see someone out there though- a someone he'd never seen before. And she looked pretty confused. ...and drenched.

"Are you alright?" He asked taking a few steps towards her.

Nill jumped, practically cowering away from the new figure in front of her, her wings pointing straight up in fear. Looking him over, she saw now weapons nor signs that he was going to hurt her. Swallowing hard, she did a combination of nodding and shaking her head.

Where am I? she mouthed the words while motioning to the island with her hands, but had no idea if he'd catch what she tried to say. If that didn't work, she had the sand as an extra helper.

Wings. Well.. that was new, but not completely surprising. People from all over came here all the time. What was odd was that she wasn't speaking. Or at least, she seemed to try but nothing came out. It was a long shot guess at what she was trying to say, but most new arrivals asked the same thing.

So he'd go with that. "You're on Salkia Island." And if he was wrong, he'd find out soon. But maybe he could help this just a bit. Reaching into his pocket, he produced his LP. "Do you have one of these?" All new arrivals just seemed to have them. And if she did, she could at least utilize the typing function.

Nill looked at the gadget he produced, and looked around frantically for something similar. What is that? she paused, staring at what he was holding before making a small squeak, crouching down to the sand and writing,

"Where is Salkia Island?" mainly to completely overlook what the gadget was. Maybe she dropped it somewhere, if she ever had one. She was one to lose important things sometimes, and she was washed up onto the shore, so it could be around somewhere...

Once she seemed confused as to what he was holding, he realized she didn't know where hers was. He immediately started looking for it, as it was one of the most important things given on Salkia Island and without it she'd be much worse off.

He was stopped when she leaned over to write in the sand. Stepping closer so he could read it, he actually read it aloud for some reason before answering it. "Ah.. Salkia Island doesn't have a place. It's.. a prison." Not his favorite thing to tell new-comers, but it was better to get it over with.

A prison? ... but why would this nice person be in a prison? A pause. She needed to know who he was. "What's your name?" she wrote in the sand. Even though she was scared, he seemed like someone who she could trust, considering the circumstances.

Another pause. Wait, if this was a prison, then why was he here? If she was here, did she do something wrong? Did he do something wrong?

"My name is Atem." He responded quickly. This was a lot harder when the other occupant of the conversation was... mute? He wondered if that was indeed the problem, or why it might have been. From birth? An accident? But in the end that was all shoved to the back of his mind labeled not my business.

Giving her a small smile and tilt of his head, "What's yours?" Telling someone they were locked in a prison wasn't a nice thing to say. But he didn't have to let her feel terrible about it, or alone.

Nill nodded, smiling softly before writing her name down in the sand, "Nill". Introductions were always hard for her, because she didn't know how to react or what to say. She was starting to get very curious about Atem, and his name was certainly not what she had heard before.

She glanced around quickly, wondering if there were more people as kind as he was.

"It's nice to meet you, Nill." This was certainly getting somewhat interesting. She seemed like an nice girl, young if anything. That seemed to be common recently. He absently wondered why Kia had such an interest in doing that, but caught sight of her looking around.

Right. She was drenched. "That way," he raised his arm to make a vague gesture, "is the city. I have a place where you can dry off, if you'd like." He seemed to always be doing this, but he couldn't exactly just leave her out there, nor did he really want to. But leaving without finding her LP.. that might have been a problem.

Nill looked to where he was pointing, but was determined to find whatever the gadget Atem had shown her. Spotting something about ten feet away, she stood up and rushed over, finding the LP in the sand, covered by some seaweed. She picked it up and bounded back to Atem, smiling broadly.

She mouthed the words Thank you, grateful for his help.

Atem stood quietly and still when she ran away. He assumed she was either running away from him or had found what they'd been looking for. In the end it seemed to turn out alright, though if her LP was broken, he'd have no idea how to help her fix it.

But he smiled, definitely understanding what she was trying to get across. Nodding his head, "You're welcome." And then his eyes strayed back towards the direction of the city. "Shall we?"

Nodding frantically, still a bit shook up from the whole process, she started off in the direction of the city. Even if she was scared, she needed to find out where she was and why she was there. She wanted to get back to the Church, but right now, it seemed impossible or was impossible.

A small squeak was produced from her throat while she looked at Atem, trying to speak with no avail. It was pointless, even at an unknown island, she couldn't speak, or be useful.

His pace was slow and even next to hers, not in a particular rush (seeming as though he'd forgotten work all together). It wasn't at all far from the beach, seeing as how the apartment complex was conveniently placed with a nice beach side view.

The squeak drew his attention, earning her a curious glance. Again the questions rolled around in his mind, but he wasn't sure it was polite to just go ahead and ask her about her situation. "Ah, can I see your LP?" If it was still working he'd at least take the time to show her the text function as they walked to his apartment.

Nill looked down at what was called the "LP" before handing it to Atem. She was very curious as to how it worked, or what it was, or how she even had it. She was always thinking, and sometime it worried her. Was she bothering him? Did he need to do something else besides help her?

She looked down at the ground as they walked, a sad expression on her face while she thought of how she could actually be useful to him, to make up for what he's done for her already.

After cautiously shaking the LP to make sure there wasn't any water in there, or.. just doing it for fun who knows, he took a look at the screen. He was absolutely unintelligent when it came to technology. For his time on the island, however, he'd at least learned to operate the basic functions of these things.

Once everything seemed to be working properly, he brought up the text feature, and looked back at her. He was going to say something about it until he caught the look on her face. "Is something wrong?" And then remembering she couldn't answer him like that, he held the device out to her.

"This is the LP. It connects to the NETWORK on Salkia. It will allow you to converse with the other people here." And then he pointed to the keyboard to show it off before handing it back to her.

Nill took the LP back cautiously before staring at the keyboard. She saw the letters there, she just had to get used to it. Shaking her head, she typed, "Nothing, but thank you for your kindness." before showing the text to him, slightly worried that she had done something wrong with it or pressed any wrong keys.

NETWORK, LP, Salkia. everything was going a bit too fast for her, but she'd learn and adapt, she always did. When he mentioned other people, she wondered if Heine had appeared here too, or maybe even Naoto ... no, it seemed unlikely.
