It was akin, sort of, to the charm bracelet he'd bought for Usagi. This one was a silver bracelet, with little star charms that reflected one's mood, or so it said. He had never seen such a thing, but he thought maybe Serenity would enjoy it. Shopping for presents (especially for women) was not his forte.
And so he'd put it in a neat little black velvet box, around which was tied a red satin bow. He hoped that she liked it, but he couldn't really be sure. Damn those flowers for disappearing. They weren't his gift to her, Usagi's in fact, and losing them felt like some sort of failure on his part.
On the side he stood, looking rather dull and tired; things definitely weren't going his way lately. But he was determined to put on a small smile and push through it. He could do this, he kept telling himself. Things would be fine. Today was not his to own, but Serenity's and Usagi's. He would honor that.

They both loved to talk.
No wonder those two were friends, or .. acquaintances. Or .. "You fill her heart with such joy, being here for her." Crimson eyes slid over to Usagi, whatever they were on this damned world, with whatever it meant here to be .. anything. Even evil.

"I am here for you as well." Despite the unpleasantness and her general attitude, Serenity as Usagi was now calling her was... well, she was young, she needed nurturing, she, over time, could become a very good friend. She was not his to nurture and he almost didn't even have the patients for such a thing. But as she was now, she was at least intriguing to talk to from time to time.
He held the box out to her, a small smile on his lips as he couldn't manage much else. "This is for you."

"Hn.." then to box that was held out to her she raised her brows and studied the square with her eyes. Hesitant, she reached for the gift. Fingers traced the crimson lace before she pinched the fabric and pulled it apart. The string looped between her fingers and she pushed open the box "Oh.." a slip of her shock, before she pierced her lips shut, then they fell into a small frown. It was beautiful. Though, for what she was expecting, was beyond her. She really wasn't expecting a gift.
"Atem.." she brought her eyes up to his, a small nod "Thank you," swallowing the awkward knot in her throat. But she didn't understand, why he would gift her with such a treasure.

Still, he forced himself to stay still and not get in the way of her thoughts. Despite the uneasy feeling, he'd let her decide what she needed to. And if she didn't like it, that would be that. No use crying over it.
There was a cool and very quiet breath exhaled when she thanked him. His eyes kept close to hers as he gave her a nod in return, the smile coming back to him and the unease leaving. "You're welcome." Well, she seemed to have liked it which was a good thing. "Happy birthday."

"Atem," a small, awkward moment before "Please, will you put it on my wrist?"

He brought both ends of the bracelet around her wrist, fitting the clasp together. Once it was secured around her wrist he let go of her hand. He reached back for the box, taking the bottom out of it to reveal a small paper.
"When the colors on the stars change, its said to reflect your mood with a different color." He held out the paper to her. He was really interested to see if it held true, as he hadn't tried for himself obviously. It was her gift after all.

For as well as she can see, the color was a brownish and it matched with..
Nervous.
A small blush to her cheeks, though a bit out of frustration she drew the paper down to her side and looked to Atem with a curious expression "They said.." quickly trying to find a feeling, an emotion other then what was foremost in her mind "undecided." Swallowing.

Still, when she spoke up, his eyes moved to the charms and then back to her. His curiosity with the situation was getting the better of him in the end.
Undecided, though. He was glad it wasn't angry or sad, at least. "Well that's what they say, but is it the truth?" It was a small murmur; trying to figure out if the bracelet was indeed accurate.

"I.. I don't know," swallowing, she clasped her hand over the charms, looking down to see her hand covering the wrist "Maybe it works better on different people." Though, she couldn't be at fault for the malfunction .. could she? No, absolutely not.

Serenity seemed.... well Atem wasn't sure. But she was stuttering and pausing a lot. He had to wonder if his presence was making her nervous or something close to it. To just leave would be highly rude and she hadn't exactly told him to go away. He knew she could speak her mind when she wanted, so he was a little confused as to what was going on.
"Also possible," He responded with a delicate smile. "If you don't like it I'm sure you could always take it back and get something else?" Store refunds or something like that. Also an unfamiliar concept to him, but he hadn't exactly bought it at a market.

Not because Usagi gathered this, or because it was Atem that decided to show, but because she had always wanted this. A gathering with people that cared for her, but she'll not be too delusional to believe that anyone really did care. Usagi was, no doubt, trying to find means to manipulate her and lie to her again. Just so she can feel that victorious little rush of having the absolute control over her emotions. The supreme Ruler that she was, this was befitting for a Queen to want; everyone's love, even the love of your enemy, to the love of something she despised. Serenity would not be fooled, she'll not be carried away so easily with this facade, she knew her mother despised her the most.
"I like it, very much, and I will wear it so that everyone will be enchanted with the ever changing color of the charms, of my moods." Sounding more confident there with the boost of her previous thoughts, although, when what she had said replayed in her mind, she felt a small frown pull on her lips "Perhaps it would serve some sort of warning for those who begin to upset me.." She pulled the paper in front of her face, looking for the appropriate color for; annoyed, upset, frazzled, etc.
"Hm.."
