Of course, being one of the first students done with work had its perks; he was always allowed to get out sort of early to go and eat his lunch, which gave him the opportunity to either eat outside on the lawn or pick what table he wanted for the day. Though, as he stepped into the cafeteria today, his lunch bag tight in his hand, he took notice of the male that was sitting in one of the corner tables, but he had no lunch tray or anything.
He blinked and tilted his head, shrugging it off and going right over to Ritsuka, stopping a few steps from the table. ``Do you mind if I sit with you?``
He blinked and looked up from his notebook when he suddenly saw Hyuuga Neji. His visible eye widened for a moment but he gave a small nod. Why would he want to sit with him? He didn't say anything as he tried to go back to writing. He rubbed at the eye-patch in irritation.
He offered the other a small smile, bowing his head in thanks then tugging out one of the chairs and sitting down. Setting his lunch bag down, Neji began to remove the items from within; homemade riceballs, tempura, and teriyaki chicken. Though, before he began to eat, he glanced around then back at Ritsuka. ``Why aren't you eating?``
"I forgot it at home," it was an easy enough lie, he had told it often enough to people who tried to ask him about it. It made people usually stop there since it was such a simple lie. Simple lies always were believed. When he made lies complicated people got nosy. 'Why do you have a black eye?' was easier to just say accidentally hit during P.E. than to come up with some elaborate fight.
``Really,`` he answered, more a statement than a question. Ritsuka didn't really seem like the type to forget something so important, but he could have been wrong. Either way, he shifted and reached into his bag again, taking out a few napkins and setting them down. ``Here then.`` And he set two riceballs on the napkins, sliding them over to Ritsuka then taking one of his plates and putting tempura and teriyaki chicken on it before setting it down in front of him also.
Neji smiled once again and lifted his hand, waving it just barely then moving to get his own food set up, offering one of his two pairs of chopsticks to Ritsuka in the process. He really didn't need to be paid back for this.
``You're welcome, but you don't have to return the favor,`` he paused, tucking his chopsticks between his fingers. ``I did this because you must be hungry and I certainly have plenty of food.``
He was smiling contently at the food in front of him. It was like the food Sen would make him. He almost felt like purring. He sort of wish he could because the food was delicious. He took the chopsticks and started eating slowly.
He waited until Ritsuka started to eat before he began himself. When being asked if he made the food, he nodded his head and finished with the piece of chicken in his mouth before speaking again.
``Really?`` he asked suddenly, head barely tilting to the side. Sure, he had been complimented on his cooking skills, but his food had never been called `amazing` before.
He blinked and tilted his head, shrugging it off and going right over to Ritsuka, stopping a few steps from the table. ``Do you mind if I sit with you?``

"Ne ne thank you Hyuuga-san!" He took the offered food and looked at it happily. "What can I do in return?"

``I did not mean it in a bad way. I meant ... my cooking hasn't ever been complimented like that. You're welcome, but thank you too, Aoyagi-san.``
