Atem may or may not have been a bit worried. Bakura was back on the island, though he seemed to know nothing about his previous venture here. That was a blessing in and of itself. But after that Kaiba had gone mysteriously quiet. The fact that Atem had quite possibly pushed the spirit into rage hadn't escaped him, either.

Though Kaiba didn't exactly post to the NETWORK every day, Atem knew he would have had something to say to his recent warning. Kaiba never could keep his mouth shut.

So, during his lunch break, he decided to skip that and just head towards the arcade. He let himself in the front door, but was a little wary of his waltzing right into the brunet's office. "Kaiba?" He paused at the counter and called loudly.

The sound of someone calling his name was like a needle piercing into aching head. The brunet growled and ran a hand through his bangs, wanting to ignore it, but slowly realizing it would probably make things much worse if he did. Atem was always a persistent one, even if they were..treading on thin ice due to past events.

"Here," Kaiba called back, his voice raspier than he expected. Had it been that long since he had gotten more coffee or water? A quick check of the time confirmed it, and drew him into a blacker mood. It was time wasted. He hadn't gotten anywhere on fixing the problem.

The sound of the voice worried him a little. It wasn't unusual for Kaiba to go days without taking care of himself, but that didn't make it okay. But he was at least glad Kaiba wasn't ignoring him or telling him to go away- ...the latter of which would probably happen a few lines into their conversation, though.

He stepped passed the counter and opened the door a bit more, just standing in the doorway as he glanced around. Oh, yes. Seto was having a bad day.

"...can I get you anything?" Maybe something to eat, something to drink. Something to help him calm down a little, maybe. Just something.

Kaiba waved it off and went back to pulling chips from his spare parts drawer and matching them with the L337POD. "Don't bother. What do you want?" he asked bluntly, not even looking up. A little sharp, perhaps, but he saw no reason to hold his tongue while he was frustrated. It had been Atem's choice to come in here, after all.

He frowned, watching Kaiba work so furiously. Well, this certainly explained why Kaiba hadn't been making himself known on the NETWORK. His LP was broken. Or.. something. Atem couldn't pretend to understand.

The sharpness didn't really deter him. He knew how Kaiba could be. "I just wanted to see you. But it appears you're busy. You're fine though, that's enough." That was all he was really worried about.

"I'm always busy. That's rather foolish to bring up," Kaiba said dryly, fitting one more chip into place before finally raising his eyes to Atem's. "But yes. I am alive. If that's what you wanted to know."

He huffed in irritation, tapping another chip in his hand against the desk. "Our captor intends to keep me from doing anything, it seems," he muttered darkly.

"A little more busy today than usual." He responded but smiled a little as Seto looked at him. "Obviously." Which was good news. Even though Bakura seemed to know little of what happened before, who knew if that spirit was lying. He was certainly capable of a thing. And by pissing him off, who knew who he'd go after.

Though he lowered his eyes to the parts and chips Kaiba was working with. "Yes, you've disappeared off the NETWORK." Which was what had prompted the visit. "My LP works fine, if you want to take it."

Kaiba snorted and shook his head. "If I do, I'm sure it will lock up too," he replied. That was the was Island punishments worked, or it would be pointless to inflict them. "And yours won't help me. I need my laptop to get anything accomplished...and it's locked up too. If rebuilding the L337POD works, I can try it with the laptop. Logically..it should work."

Not that the Island had ever been logical.

He nodded, not really trying to showcase that he comprehended, but he at least understood the situation. He leaned slightly against the frame of the door, not really daring to approach closer. Seto was busy, so he'd probably be leaving soon.

Though he did look down as one of his boots crunched on a few pieces of glass. "...you're sure I couldn't go get you some coffee.. or something?" Since it seemed Kaiba had run out.

The brunet was suddenly hit by a wave of exhaustion. His head dropped, his hand lifting to press against his sinuses. "If it suits you," he said coolly as he tried to clear his head. "I would think you have thieves to antagonize, or perhaps a need to defend something that didn't need defending."

In the short period he had still had access to the NETWORK, he had of course noticed Atem's various conversations. He didn't hack the other's conversations for nothing, of course.

"Things are quiet for the moment," He responded before the smile faded into something more of a mischievous grin. "And I think I've antagonized him enough." He wasn't sure if Seto had seen what he'd done or not, and was guessing not by the state of his LP on the desk. So at least this would be one way to get that conversation out of the way.

He figured it would be better for Seto to at least know what he'd done. If Bakura acted out, it might have been his fault.

That grin was dangerous. Kaiba's eyes narrowed and his focus shifted completely to Atem once he saw it. "Now what have you done?" he asked. "He doesn't remember anything. Even you should have noticed that by now. We have a decent opportunity here."

He raised his eyes to Kaiba's, the grin softening a little. Yes, he'd done a bad thing. But he'd been trying to do a good thing in the beginning.

"I posted a warning. He's obviously going to go around and try to take as much information as possible, and probably try to get his hands on people as often as he can. So I posted something to the NETWORK telling them to make sure they knew they were speaking to Ryou, if someone looking like Ryou should approach them." He was just trying to help. But of course, Bakura had not liked this at all.

"Just a warning?" Kaiba said, not believing that for a minute. Atem wouldn't be looking like that if it was. Nor would there be any need to bring it up. Kaiba knew which was which.

"But if they cannot figure out which is which, it's their own problem. Nobody can pretend to be quite as spineless as Ryou is," he added dismissively.

"I warned them, yes." He moved away from the door frame, bringing his arms up to cross over his chest as he looked around a little. "The spirit left a little video up, I don't think he realized at first. He was obviously not amused by my doing that."

Though he found himself shaking his head. "Ryou isn't spineless- and Bakura had fooled us before. He-" Lived inside Ryou, was Ryou, took over Ryou's body. All these things were true. But not something to be said to Kaiba if he wanted to continue this conversation. "He's good at imitating Ryou." Too good.

Kaiba's lips pressed together tightly. He didn't need this now. His head already hurt. But Bakura...he knew the thief would still be a problem, memories or no. He just hadn't wanted it to be so soon.

"Ryou hasn't dealt with this problem. He is too afraid. I don't know what else to call him," he said bluntly, not in the mood to be forgiving. "But Bakura cannot hide here. If anyone actually thought about it and checked their L337POD, they could see the signature. He isn't very bright. He never changes his L337POD, or steals Ryou's. Even if you cannot see through his attempts at being scared, you can see who it is easily.
