Day 3 oomoon_rabbitoo April 23 2010, 21:39:57 UTC
i guess this day works. |Da eighthsight April 24 2010, 02:06:37 UTC
It had only been a day or two after his healing of Atem, but he was dead set on finding out what had happened to Usagi, even if that meant walking through all of this rain. His hood was pulled way up, protecting most of his face from the rain and helping in keeping his vision clear.

Lifting his arm up, Neji blocked some of the rain that fell from the tree branches, shaking the droplets off his hand and brushing his hood back just barely. He could sense the dark energy, but he couldn't see where it was coming from.

For some reason, he felt as if it were coming from every direction, no matter which way he went. Instead of just taking a random way, he focused his thoughts and gathered where the most energy was coming from and heading in that direction, his hands tucked into his pockets to keep them from getting too cold.

Serenity was out in the rain, her body under the protection of an umbrella her old self had bought at the beginning bought. The umbrella was originally pink with cute little bunnies but using her magic Serenity changed it to pure black. She was in the lake, in ankle deep water to watch the droplets land on the surface. It was a pleasant thing to watch, how the ripples destroyed the peacefulness of the lake's surface.

The hem of her dress floated above the water. Her focus was entirely on the rain until she sensed someone was nearby. She turned slightly to see if anyone else was in the area.

The dark magic was definitely what he had been looking for; it wasn't too far away and if he was careful enough, he could sneak up on her.

As he drew closer to the lake, the Hyuuga hesitated behind the cover of trees, pale eyes glancing around until he caught sight of her, standing in the water. He was tempted to just attack from behind, but if he could reason with her, he might have a better chance.

He would have called her name, had he knew what he was supposed to call her now, but instead, he just moved closer to the edge of the lake, hands still tucked in his pockets as a sign that he didn't want to fight.

Serenity saw the man...the man who she once called Nii-chan creep closer to her with his hands in his pockets. She knew better than to take that as a sign of surrender. She remembered he was a ninja and knew not to take him lightly.

"Here to cleanse yourself of you sins?"

Glancing up from the water, Neji looked towards her and shook his head, allowing his gaze to fall back to the lake afterward. ``No,`` he replied, lifting one hand from his pocket and brushing some of his wet hair out of his face.

``I came to see if I could help you.``

"The only help you could offer is joining my side," Serenity replied, frowning slightly when the other's gaze fell back on the lake. Did he no nothing of etiquette?

"Or are you here to try and break me like the others have?"

He couldn't admit to the truth. If she figured out why he was really here, he wouldn't have a chance at getting the real Usagi back. Though, did he really have a chance either way?

There really wasn't an escape now. ``... I've come to try and get Usagi back.``

Her eyes narrowed at the awful name. How many times did she have to say it wasn't her name anymore? That name wasn't fit for a Princess let alone a Queen. The umbrella in her hands evaporate into shadows to let the rain drops hit her body.

"There is nothing to get her back from. She is gone." she said in a low tone, taking a step towards him.

"You can try but you will fail like the others."

The ninja could practically feel her moving closer, yet he didn't look up, didn't even make a move to get away from her. He wanted to try and get his friend back and running wouldn't do anything to help that.

``No, she isn't.``

His hands curled into fists, eyes glancing up and over at her, narrowed into a glare. ``I know she's here,`` he stated, his words low, but not threatening.

"If you think she's still here..." she murmured, tapping into her own power until it began to outline her body.

"Then try and free her, but if you fail..." a smirk began to settle over her lips as the darkness began to change into ribbons of energy that clung to her.

"You will be my pet."

He turned quickly, pulling his hands from his pockets and lifting them in a defensive position. He hadn't wanted to resort to fighting, but it looked like there was really no choice in the matter.

``Then I can't fail.`` Seeing the darkness clinging to her like that, Neji almost faltered in his steps. Did he even stand a chance against this darkness? It was practically suffocating ...

He shook his head and lunged forwards, aiming a hit towards her chest.

The smirk grew on her lips. Serenity didn't move from her spot, letting the fool come to her. She had warned him and yet he still chose to put up a resistance to her. She saw him coming towards her, aiming for her chest to knock her out but with her ribbons of energy clinging to her, they acted first.

The ribbons flew out to Neji, wrapping around the arm that was trying to strike at her. The ribbons burned and held him at a distance from Serenity. She looked over the ninja, channeling more of her energy into the ribbon that held him away from her.

"You know the pain I've suffered, you've seen me alone....do you want me to stay that way?" she asked, trying to pull at his heart strings to get him to come to her side.

When the dark ribbons shot out at him, Neji attempted to stop the attack, shifting his body away, but his arm was still caught. He winced when the darkness began to burn him, lifting his free arm and aiming an open palmed hit at the ribbon.

It was keeping him at a distance and burning, so he would have to get it off first before he could even try to attack her again.

``You were never alone,`` he replied, moving his free hand back and grabbing a shuriken from his pocket, aiming straight for her and throwing.

Neji's aim was true. Hitting her square in the shoulder. Her concentrate was broken for a moment, but she pushed through the pain. Her anger flared making the ribbons burn even more.

"You shouldn't have done that." she hissed., waving her hand to have another ribbon wrap his other free arm to have Neji suspended in the air in front of her.

"I was always alone. While everyone had someone from their home come here none came for me. If they came they never stayed....no on ever stays for me!" she yelled, pushing more of her power on him, trying to convert him.

"You were like the others and left me to drown in my sorrows."

The shuriken hit and Neji moved his arm to grab for another, only to have the burning sensation become worse on his arm, making him wince in pain again.

``Usagi,`` he whispered, head jerking up when another ribbon caught his other arm and he was being lifted off his feet, eyes shutting tightly when the burning of his other arm was added into the mix.

``... stop.`` It was all he could get out; he wanted to tell her that he knew exactly how she felt, but he was starting to become dizzy with the pain and he knew she wouldn't listen.

He had never left her on purpose. Never.
