There weren't too many other places the CEO could hide, really, but he wasn't doing a good job of it anyway. The man looked like he had been through a minor fight and had been, only just getting out of Rukia's binding kido a short time ago. He was left a bit disheveled and angry, and the shelves in the office were bearing the brunt of it. He did notice the her movement out of the corner of his eye, but he waited until he had slammed the current drawer he was putting paperwork away in before he actually acknowledged her presence.

"Cissnei," he said in as cool a tone he could manage as he stood up like nothing had happened at all. "A little bit earlier than I expected, or I would have been out front."

The woman merely glanced over him once, deciding that, (unlike most of the people Kaiba knew) it was better to not mention his current state. Instead she stood at the doorframe, arms folded as they usually were in front of her until she entered, letting them fall back to their sides. "It's fine." She replied neutrally. "We would of needed to come back here anyway."

For such a reason why, became a bit more apparent when Cissnei reached into her jacket pocket and produced a flash drive, the work of the last few weeks in which she had been relatively silent on The NETWORK. "I thought you would find this interesting."

Kaiba grunted in agreement and crossed his arms over his chest, expecting some sort of exposition as to what she was after. The flash drive, though, caught his interest better than any other explanation could have.

"Is this from the NETWORK...or something else completely?" He asked, all business. One hand was already reaching for his laptop and turning it towards him while the other took the flash drive carefully.

She allowed him to take it, moving to stand next to the other as the laptop powered on and it plugged in, not bothering to ask permission to touch as a password screen came up and she typed it in ( ... )

The CEO frowned slightly as she leaned forward to touch his computer. It was a password he didn't know, but he couldn't help but be a little bit defensive over it. That machine kept him sane.

The files worked nicely enough to distract him, though. Just from a quick glance, Kaiba could tell that some of it mirrored his own notes, some of it more organized, some of it not. Seeing the measure of people in graph form though...it just made things a little more urgent.

"It is not something I hadn't thought about myself..." he said coolly, eyes trained on the data. "And it's not just the people. Since we 'returned' to this place it's been a long gap since the next occurrence that affected the whole Island. Reaction times have been slower. Even my punishment was shorter compared to others I've had."

He glanced back at Cissnei. "It is why I wanted the bombs to go off when they did, I will admit."

It might of been to allow us to 'adjust' to our new settings." Cissnei replied, playing devil's advocate for the case as she switched over to the next set of information, the events. Great minds thought alike after all, and it showed exactly what Kaiba had said, though some of the earlier data was missing from it. "However, with the size of this place one would think that it had been planned out for more people than what we have, so it is very likely they were not expecting such a drop."

A pause from the redhead, then-"We might be in a position right now where pushing harder may lead us to the answers we have been looking for." There is something in her voice that might indicate that she had a idea of what they should do. Such was true, however, Cissnei was looking for a way to approach it with the other.

Hearing that he would have to work with Jing, she knew, would not go over so well. So maybe it would be best to conveniently 'forget' to tell him about that part until they were on their way.

"Hn," Kaiba snorted dismissively. "When have they ever allowed us the luxury of that before? They only gave us a week to 'adjust' to the world switches before we were pulled to another one. They didn't give us any time when the park was altered. You give them too much credit, Cissnei."

Carefully, he skimmed the data, smirking slightly when most of it had confirmed his informal notations. Really most of what she was doing was impressing upon him that he really needed to organize his own notes. It all made sense in his head, but it probably wouldn't make much sense if he had showed them to anyone else like she was now. He made a mental note to do so later, then turned his attention back to her.

"Pushing is what the explosions were intended to do..." he commented absently, thinking through possibilities. Her tone certainly indicated she had one. "But it never hurts to add more pressure. What is your intent, Cissnei?"

Now that she had his attention on this, Cissnei watched the screen for a moment longer before looking up at the CEO. "There isn't much most know about the island." She began, deciding to go ahead and be somewhat upfront. "That's how it is to most people here, anyway. The ones who have settled and assume that they will stay here or do not have the means to continue to seek out more information know mostly just of the town and perhaps the surrounding area. More inclined people might know the layout of the island and the areas like the Mountains up on the North side."

"However...Recently" Or should she say, five months ago. But that part she would omit out. "-I found a area that leads to the underground and there is something different about it than what you would expect from caverns."

Kaiba spent most of the first part of Cissnei's statement looking at her like she was repeating the obvious. Of course most people here weren't paying attention. Half of them could barely use the L337POD no mater how long they had stayed. Most of them thought of this as a glorified vacation, and it quite obviously rankled the CEO. Her further comments, however, drew a slight frown to his face.

"..I had thought the mountains were worth exploring," Kaiba murmured, contemplating the information. "This place seems to follow a sort of twisted..simplistic logic on occasion. Almost how you would play a game. The secrets are always in the most visually noticeable place."

He glanced at Cissnei intently. "So if it is not a cave, it could be anything from the missing utility plants to our captors' 'base'," he said, prompting her to continue.

Cissnei stepped back, a hand coming up to push bright red locks out of the way as she spoke. "Possibly. It honestly looks and has the same feeling of a Mako cavern back on Gaia. However from how out of place it seems, I'm given the distinct impression that it has something to do with why we are here, as you said, in a way I can't explain."

She locked hazel eyes on the younger man. "You would need to come down and see it for yourself." Cissnei does, in fact, have a very good idea of what kind of near sacred ground the cavern was from being there with Jing. However she also knows that bringing up such would just put Kaiba off from the idea.

Oh, finding the balance.

Kaiba's eyes sharpened at the thought. If this cave was significant for Cissnei to say something about it...there had to be something worth seeing in there. It was the most progress he had had since his punishment. He wasn't trying particularly hard to hide his interest.

"So I will be going as soon as I have time," he said. It would probably be tomorrow, in fact, now that he knew about where the cavern was. "Unless there is something else I need to know?"

"You will not be able to get in without me there." She tells him flatly. "It's near physically impossible to enter and leave unless you have another person with you."

Well technically, it was impossible to get into unless Jing was there. But she was getting to that point, honestly.

"I can take you there on Friday. I have other things going on until then."

"There are ways to get around physical limitations," Kaiba said with a dismissive snort. "I don't need to be escorted." He didn't want to be. Anyone else would only get in the way. Even Cissnei would hesitate in certain situations, and Kaiba was far too eager for information, for results, to allow that to get in his way.

"All I really need to know is whether or not there is something down there that is going to try and kill me."

"I'm well aware that you think so." Came the frosty reply, hazel eyes narrowing just slightly. "However, you will find it impossible to get there. If you chose to go before then, there is not much more I can do for you."

"But as I said, Friday." She folded her arms and looked at the man. "It will likely be a full day's trip, so I will be at the park at Six AM and leaving shortly after." If Kaiba showed or not, the unspoken said, was his own problem. She wasn't going to attempt to coddle or bend to what he wanted on this one.

After all, there wasn't much he would find if he went on his own besides a huge drop.

"Impossible? How so?" Kaiba asked, his tone just as cool as hers out of reaction. He believed her more than most, but impossible was not a word he accepted just out of hand. Ultimately, it didn't really matter, he was still going to go out tomorrow to check the place out at least.

Still, his hand shifted to his computer to make a note for Friday. It would do him no good to be forced to accept the assistance after all and then forget all about it. Not that it was very likely for something of this importance, but it never hurt to be prepared.

Much better. Cissnei retrieved the flash drive from the Laptop and sticking it back in her pocket. "It's a sheer drop about 250 feet to the bottom. I've the equipment to get down and up it."

Lie. Lie lie lie of course, but getting him to even go with the mention of Jing wouldn't really happen if he knew beforehand. She was playing to what she knew best about both men, really.

Cissnei pulled off her Jacket in demonstration, draping it over one arm and pulling up her sleeve on the other to show him the bracer with the dark green orb of Materia on it. "I'd let you have it to take yourself, but it is unlikely that you can cast it."
