Science Show Ω 03

Who: Szayel, Suzaku, Lelouch, and Ichigo (also posting order)
What: Szayel calls Suzaku over to discuss his discoveries. Unfortunately...
When: Afternoon, after people start reappearing.
Where: The Book Bin, since there... doesn't seem to be a library? :o
Warnings: The usual Szayel warnings; potential maiming, abuse, and otherwise nastiness.

"He's an Espada, he's one of the guys the Island has been warned about! I can't...it's took long to explain now, but there is no way in HELL he's got good intentions! Just trust me on this, alright?!" Ichigo exclaimed, narrowing those dark eyes at Szayel. There was a long pause as Ichigo considered Suzaku and Lelouch's words before he spoke again.

"They're right...let's take this outside, Espada." Ichigo said to Szayel before turning to head out. He didn't think of this as a mistake, he had enough faith in his reflexes that he could block if the Espada decided to attack while his back was turned.

Rukia and Ichigo had discussed offering truces to any of the enemies who may show up, but Szayel had hidden his reiatsu from them and that was more then enough to tell Ichigo that the Shinigami had been avoided. Which told him that that meant ill intentions were still abroad, and that a truce would be pointless to discuss. Not to mention the missing persons cases, it was all too fishy and quite frankly, Ichigo didn't care about what they had decided previously. Szayel had to be informed that violence against the people here would NOT be tolerated, and informing by force was something Ichigo considered himself to be good at.

Szayel made no move to join him, pressing two fingers to the bridge of his glasses instead, one hand still resting on his zanpakutō. Not that he did not doubt the range of his equipment, but he was not leaving this spot, not without Kurosaki attacking him in front of the two boys. An outright attack, provoked by the truth? Oh that would be delicious.

"I don't have good intentions?" he responded, his voice low and emotional. "What of you, shinigami? How 'good' were your intentions when you invaded Las Noches? How 'good' were your intentions when you killed the others in the name of a woman that joined us willingly?!"

That struck a nerve. Ichigo stopped in his tracks and he turned to shoot a glare at Szayel. The rage was boiling deep in his stomach, and before he knew it he was moving.

The orange haired teen disappeared only to reappear right in front of the Espada, his sword coming down from an overhead slash. Ichigo knew it would be blocked, underestimating Szayel's abilities would have been a bad idea all around.

"Inoue only went with to try to SAVE OUR WORLD!! Don't you DARE try to make me out to be the bad guy when your boss is tryin' t' destroy EVERYTHING!!!" Ichigo shouted during the swing of Zangetsu, and the blazing look in his eyes said that there definitely was no way of a truce now. Not that Szayel had wanted that in the first place.

Szayel had been fully prepared to make a show of struggling to block Kurosaki's attack, his blade coming up a little too late, his movements a little too slow. The good news was that he succeeded... the bad news was he wasn't really acting. He knew Kurosaki had monstrous power from his observations, but he did not know it was this much. Had the boy grown so much in such a short amount of time?

"Gh... you... you know nothing!" he snapped, struggling to push Kurosaki off.

There was no time to sort anything out. Who was wrong, who was right. It could not be decided at the moment when Ichigo went berzerk.

And then vanished.

Suzaku's eyes widened as he saw Ichigo suddenly reappear and started swinging his sword downward at Szayel who did not even have his weapon drawn. Just how was that even a fair fight?! He took action as he saw Szayel barely able to block the swing and then struggle against Ichigo's obviously more powerful attack.

Without a second thought, Suzaku dove at Szayel and pushed him out of the way of the sword's path while kicking Ichigo back. Since he was in immediate mortal danger while doing so, his "live" geass activated, forcing him to act superhumanly fast. The sword barely missed Suzaku himself, ripping through a good length of his coat.

"Stop this!"

Ichigo barely even heard Suzaku, but when he shoved Szayel out of the way of his sword, brown eyes widened. The relief written on his face was great when he watched the brunette's speed increase and the sword just tear into Suzaku's jacket.

With knowing that Suzaku was okay, Ichigo's mind went right back to the business at hand. He flicked his gaze sideways to Lelouch before quickly snapping it back to Szayel.

"Tch, ya want me to take this outside?! Fine!"

With that, Ichigo was clearing the distance between him and Szayel, shoving Suzaku out of his way to get there. He was pissed and at this point he didn't give a crap about whether or not he looked bad.

It happened in a flash, and Ichigo had Szayel lifted in the air by a hand wound tightly in the front of his jacket. He then drew back and threw the Espada as hard as he could, sending him flying through the store window. The orange haired teen was right on his tail after that, sword up and ready to meet with the pink haired Espada's, or so he expected.

Whatever Szayel was expecting Kurosaki to do, throwing him through a window was not very high on that list. He just barely tucked in on himself, glass shards flying everywhere and cutting into him as he landed roughly on the pavement, rolling away. Struggling, he managed to climb back up to his feet as Kurosaki readied his sword, but Szayel's attention was behind him, to see what Suzaku and Lelouch would be doing...

No matter what, though, Kurosaki was going to pay for throwing him through that window. Bad enough he had injured him, but now his hair was a mess, the bastard.

For someone who was supposed to protect humans from soul-eating hollows, Ichigo seemed the more uncontrollable of the two. Suzaku found himself on the ground as Ichigo shoved him out of the way and then threw Syzael through a window with a loud crash of shattering glass.

He rolled to his feet and looked to Lelouch.

"Stay here. I have to stop those two," he said and bolted outside.

"I know that...but I can't stay back. They'll destroy each other at this point and then what?" Suzaku asked. He finally stopped running and gently brushed Lelouch's hands away as if the vice-like grip was but a butterfly's touch. If Ichigo won, there was no hope for any future hollows. If Szayael won, the shinigami would have all the more reason to attack. And with the both of them unable to put aside their weapons and talk...

"I'll live. You know I can't break that promise," Suzaku said, his green eyes apologetic as he put his hands on Lelouch's shoulders.

"Just stay safe. Watch for now..." he said and then took up a large pole that lay on the ground before charging in, aiming to knock the swords from both fighters' hands.

Ichigo HAD been moving to cut the pink haired man, but the would-have-been blow was knocked off course by--Suzaku with a pole.

The orange haired teen turned, glaring at the brunette.

"O-oi! Quit gettin' in the middle of it or you're gonna get hurt! Damnit, just trust me on this!" Ichigo shouted at him, completely distracted.

Szayel took full advantage of the distraction, sheathing his sword quickly. If he couldn't take the battle into the store, then he would just have to take it to the roof; as long as he was over where his machines were hidden, then they should still receive a signal from the remote and function as they were supposed to.

With a burst of static, he began to sonído toward the nearest mall exit, counting on Kurosaki's hotheadedness and Suzaku's inability to stop the rampaging shinigami. All he had to do was keep Kurosaki lured enough to get him to the roof... that should be quite simple...

"He's been hidin' his reiatsu---er, spirit energy. An' originally the other Shinigami and I decided not to attack anyone right off, but if he was hidin' himself from us an' suddenly just decided t' show it after all these people goin' missin, I can't just assume he's been bein' good!"

Ichigo paused to take a breath before turning his gaze to the now retreating Szayel.

"So I gotta go find out what the hell he's up to now, so stay outta my way or you're gonna get hurt!"

With that, the orange haired teen was gone, flash stepping behind the pink haired Espada and keeping right on his tail.

Szayel glanced back to see the shinigami hot on his heals, so to speak. He smirked privately to himself as he burst through the doors of the mall, suddenly reversing direction and propelling himself up, onto an awning. He glanced down at Kurosaki once, sneering at him, before using sonído to get to the roof.

No quite as planned, but now the climax was about to begin.
