It was funny how things always seemed to work out, when this other Yuugi/Atem/Yami, whatever he was calling himself now was involved. When the other had left, Kaiba had been certain that he would ignore the man if he showed up on Salkia again. Ignore him, and possibly inform Bakura of his exact location. Of course now, he was waiting for him. Possibly to help him. Kaiba shook his head slightly. Damn his pride. He couldn't risk Atem refusing to duel with him. It would ruin him.

The CEO was near the main door to the mall, leaning against the wall in his usual dueling his attire, white trench flaring even while there was no wind. He figured he would be easy to spot where he was, not that it mattered. The other, with his hair, could be pinpointed in the middle of a busy carnival, even with his height. Kaiba expected no problems.

The high echoes of the crowds nearly made his head spin, his memories jar; a wish for what he used to have. Perhaps Seto was right, more right than Atem would ever admit. He missed the past, his past. And with the other so right on his tail about it, he'd have to cover that part of himself and perhaps bury it ( ... )

Gods, Kaiba was not prone to bouts of violence in such a public place, but he wanted to deck the other duelists. How dare you leave and come back, he wanted to snarl, how dare you leave and do not take my brother with you? ...How dare you leave me? Indulging himself, however, was not something Kaiba was able to do. Instead, he focused on smothering that emotion and keeping his face impassive, even when he found Atem sniffling and staring up at him. His fingers clenched into his arm before Kaiba could stop it, but there was no other reaction.

"Hn," Kaiba grunted, glancing down at Atem. "It would look bad if I let you wander around aimlessly all night. As I am trying to introduce Duel Monsters to the Island, looking bad is not what I need right now."

Carefully, the brunet stepped away from the wall. "I suppose you want the usual overview of this place, then?" he asked coolly.

Atem regarded him carefully, perhaps a little wary as well. Seto was taller and most likely a lot stronger than him. And even if he'd never known the man to physically harm someone unprovoked, the way he'd been bashed upon his arrival left little to the imagination. He'd somehow pissed Seto off- quite a lot, in fact. And he was still digging to find out what it was that he had done and if there was a way to fix it.

"All about appearances, hm?" He smiled, not genuinely so and perhaps could be read in his eyes. But he wasn't about to cry about this. He just hoped it wasn't a bridge burned forever. "Well, whatever the reason, I'm glad you've decided to help me out." He knew the reasons. He just didn't want to think about them.

Atem took a step back when Seto did, almost instinctively at this point; on guard with the other around. "It would help. As much as I like being outside, I don't think I want to sleep out there." He tried to control his sniffles, but his nose was running. "Not in these temperatures."
