Sitting on one side of the room, Akito occasionally glanced at the door. Her robes were fanned out around her elegantly, giving her an almost doll-like appearance. Her pale, white hands were busy, petting the head of a yellow bird in her lap.
All in all, she seemed to be in a content mood. Then again, anyone who knew her would know that her mood could change on a dime.
The canary chirped, fluttering his yellow wings in slight agitation. He too could sense the dangerous mood his MasterMistress was in.
A cruel smile curled Akito's lips as she thought about her family arriving soon. She had grown rusty in controlling them. It was time that she fell back into her old habits. Being a hermit all of the time didn't suit her.
"They are coming." she whispered to the canary, cupping her hands and holding him still, "Won't it be nice to see them?"
