Who: Kuchiki Rukia and Kurosaki Ichigo What: Sorta kinda date at work? Rukia has a lot on her mind and needs to get it off her chest. Where: Tea shop When: Tuesday evening Warnings: N/A
Ichigo had waited until he was sure she was at least almost out of there before heading to the tea-shop. He figured he could hang out for the last of her shift and then walk her home after.
The orange haired teen found himself wondering exactly what Rukia wanted to talk about, and he almost couldn't help but get paranoid. What if it was about what happened between them before he'd turned into a kid?
But then again, it could be about ANYTHING. Ichigo knew he probably shouldn't come to conclusions, but that paranoia still ate after his brain. Especially after the last week, and realizing how much he really did love her.
The tea shop came into view and Ichigo took in a deep deep breath to calm his nerves before entering.
The younger Shinigami pushed open the tea-shop door and stepped in to find it dead empty. When he spotted the dark haired girl, he lifted one hand to greet her.
Rukia's gaze stayed on the table. The movement of her arm stopped. It was obvious that she wasn't cleaning the table anymore. She didn't hear the small bell chime or Ichigo's words.
Now he really was starting to get concerned, and he almost half wondered inwardly if the Island froze her there. Couldn't put it past the Island to do stupid shit after all.
The orange haired teen reached out to touch her shoulder, brows knitting.
When his hand touched her shoulder, the girl jumped slightly. She turned to almost attack, but saw his familiar face. "Ichigo..." Rukia composed herself, leaving the rag on the table. "How long was I standing there?"
"Not long...but...are you alright?" Ichigo asked, leaning in to look at her face better. He lifted one hand and put it to her forehead to check for a fever.
Rukia backed away slightly and looked up at the hand on her forehead. She sighed lightly and placed a hand on his. "I'm fine." She removed his hand and looked over to her left. "Take a seat." Rukia would lead him to a small couch area, small enough for two.
That paranoid feeling was back in his stomach but he did was he was told, taking a seat and watching her close. If Rukia couldn't see how worried he was about what was coming, she could sure as hell feel the uncertainty leaking from him.
"...what's wrong?" Ichigo asked, cutting to the chase.
"I'll tell you in a moment. But for right now, you are a customer," Rukia smiled, placing the menu in front of him. "Can I get you anything to drink? Assam, Chai, and Kuchika are our specials today."
"All right then. I'll be out soon with your drink." Rukia made her way towards the back to prepare the tea. It might have seemed to take longer than usual. But when returned, on a tray was his tea along with a sandwich on a plate. She placed both down in front of him. "One chai tea and a ham sandwich. Please be careful when drinking the tea. It is hot. I hope you enjoy your meal." And with a small bow, she walked behind the counter for a moment before continuing to clean.
Ichigo snorted quietly to himself, obviously she was having too much fun with this whole job thing. He figured it was exciting to her like all new things were. He picked up the sandwich and took a bite. He chewed and swallowed quickly, forcing it down despite the fact that he wasn't really hungry at the moment. The sooner he finished, the sooner Rukia would talk to him after all.
Rukia finished cleaning the other tables. She wanted to complete her final tasks before sitting down with Ichigo. She moved to the back once more and tea herself a cup of tea as well. While letting it steep, the girl cleaned up dishes and other items in the back. Soon, she emerged again with a tray and placed the cup on the table where Ichigo sat. "Is everything all right?" she questioned her customer, making mention of his order.
"Ah, yeah. It's great." Ichigo said, and his tone was slightly absent sounding. He picked up the cup of Chai and took a small sip, careful not to burn his mouth.
"I'm glad to hear it." She lightly bowed before disappearing again. There. There wasn't anything left to do. She cleaned the store and now there was to do was lock up. Although she couldn't do that. There was still a half hour left. Taking off her apron and hanging in the back, she smoothed out her clothes underneath. Emerging from the back room she made her way to Ichigo and took a seat beside him, in front of her tea.

"Hey...looks pretty damn slow in here."

"I'll go with Chai then." Ichigo said, offering the menu back to her with a nervous smile.
