Aerith walked quietly through the trees, a flower basket swinging idly from one arm. The basket itself was filled to the brim with Aerith's favorite flower - yellow irises. As she moved back towards the town, she plucked one out and sniffed it with a small smile. She then looked up at the sky, green eyes judging the sun's position in the sky.

It was almost time for her to meet...Yamato. Yes, that was her name. She had said something about...coffee, was it? Aerith had never tasted coffee. Growing up in the Midgar Slums had deprived her of certain things, but she had never even heard of coffee.

Yamato had seemed kind. She would give the girl the benefit of a doubt and try...it. Whether it be food or drink or something else entirely, Aerith would test it.

She had already located the supposed coffee shop in the town, and that was where she was headed now. Her brown braid swung gently from side to side as she turned and entered the shop. Looking around curiously, it occurred to her that she didn't know what Yamato looked like.

Yamato was sitting at a table, staring idly out the window when the bell chimed signaling someone had entered the cafe. She looked to find a girl with a long brown braid and a basket of flowers. She had no way of knowing if the girl was the Aerith she was supposed to be meeting or not other than asking. She figured it might come off rude to yell across the shop, and even if the woman wasn't Aerith, Yamato has no wish to appear so rude to a cute girl.

She got up and walked over to the entrance where the other female was standing. "Hey, are you Aerith?" she asked, smiling in a friendly manner.

The movement caught her attention and she tilted her head sweetly. She returned Yamato's smile, holding her flower basket in front of her in a shy manner. It wasn't that she was shy about meeting Yamato. She had looked forward to it, actually, but Aerith was a naturally gentle person who liked to put others at ease.

"Yes, I am." she replied in a soft voice, "Are you Yamato?" her green eyes traveled around the shop before focusing intently on the girl.

"Yep!" Yamato responded, smile blooming into a full grin. Yamato had several things she wished to ask Aerith about, but figured it probably wasn't very polite to anyone to just stand in the entrance like they were.

"Want to go sit down?" she asked, turning to lead the woman back to the table she had previously been sitting at.

Aerith giggled, hiding the sound behind her hand at Yamato's eagerness. She bowed her head briefly before moving to the table. Once she was seated with her basket beside her, she finally asked the question that had been plaguing her since she and Yamato had spoken on the LPs.

"What is coffee?" she smelled something interesting on the air and wondered if that came from coffee.

This world held a lot of new things for her.
