Who: Doumeki, Himawari, and later Ichijou
When: late evening, Saturday
Where: Ichijou and Himawari's house
What: Doumeki goes seeking comfort at the House of Smiles with the only person from home he feels he has left.
Warnings: highly internalized emo

Doumeki had slept late after the difficult night he'd had before. It had been a chore to even get himself to doze off, his sleep had been light, and he couldn't seem to relax. It was understandable enough, there was so much on his mind, so many things worrying him. Watanuki's situation, and the pain of being told he wasn't wanted. He could still feel the sting in his cheek, not in a physical way, but what it symbolized.

The bitterness was perhaps the worst part. Bitterness that he'd lost every inch of ground he'd gained over the time he'd spent with Watanuki, the long time he'd spent with him, sacrificing for him, giving things for him, his time, his eye, his blood - all that waiting, and after only a while, less than a few months, even, he'd lost him. To someone who would inevitably hurt him. It was selfish to think, but he'd given so much of himself, and been patient, waited and cultivated and supported without fail and now...

Things hadn't improved when he woke up, finding messages on the LP telling him Kohane was dead. She'd been at Watanuki's home the night before, though Doumeki hadn't known, and somehow she was now dead. He couldn't seem to find out if the vampires had done it, didn't know what had happened. He felt a great deal of shame for not knowing, not having found a way to stop it. He wasn't reliable anymore, not for any of them.

He'd purchased sake on his trip into the sudden snow to get more appropriate clothing, and had a half bottle of it while sitting outside his own home, then capped it up and carried it over to the house next door. Without knocking, he slipped inside and closed the door behind him, tired eyes looking around the main living area. Kunogi...she was a friend, had been a friend for some time. Perhaps she wouldn't mind him being here. She was the only one who hadn't relied on him, and couldn't be betrayed by his sudden and startling inability to protect people he cared for.

Without a word of greeting or announcing himself, he sat down in the living room, back to the wall, legs crossed, eyes half-shut.
