Driving home, 250-odd miles until we disembark from this well-oiled machine and go home to our respective places for rest and fresh clothes. It has been a very important trip for both bands because they sold out places together than they haven't alone. There is a lot of buzz about them, which is a good thing. I have decided that I enjoy 9 out of 10 days on the road. The 10th day usually has me bummed out and missing home. Missing a bed that is my own, a food supply that I have some say over, the faces of those dear to me. But the other nine days are constant stimulus - the changing face of America, the music that keeps changing, the interactions that stay with me, the love that is tangible.
I am busily at work on a new bus-themed zine. This one more band focused. I have spent the last few days interviewing both bands and compiling all of my notes from the road. I am hopeful that it will be out by the end of February, and I'll let you all know.
Things I can't wait to do once we get home: take a bath, sleep in our sweet bed, eat a big fresh salad and fruit, see family and friends, do some work type stuff, and inhale home.
