Ahh, so it was a sentence generator that cause my confusion in your last post. Thought there seemed something familiar about those sentences. Having just completed a project on sentence generators for linguistics, it all becomes clear and slightly eery, like this weather. NP-> det + (AP) + N + (PP), PP-> prep + NP, AP-> etc? From what I know of computer generated linguistics, that was highly impressive. How did you narrow down the rules so as to produce cohesive sentences (eg, not allowing "On the vicar's wife"), or did you just separate the ones that are semantically allowable from the 'word salad'? (My tutor calls them 'word salad', phrases comprised of word just thrown together :) )
