The one about a busy couple of days

I've had a busy last few days, full of leisure time.  Going back to the weekend, I saw a whole crap load of movies.  First off, I saw Pirates.  It was loooong but I liked it and I feel that the whole thing was resolved well.  The hotness was out in full force, the Geoffrey Rush was awesome as hell and I love me some Bill Nighey, I can't even lie.  I think it was better than the second but not as good as the first.  Let's be honest, though, I'd watch a hundred of those movies and enjoy every single one.

Also saw Half Nelson, which pretty much made me both want and not want to be a teacher, as well as broke my heart is thirteen places.  I see why Gosling was nominated.  I also saw The Last King of Scotland (a ma zing but scary and disturbing as hell) and Pan's Labrynth which I'll probably end up buying when I get some extra fundage.  Pan's was sooooo good.  Everything about it was just perfect.  It wins at awesomeness.

Speaking of awesomeness, I discovered  Catherine Tate with the help of my friend
killerspork33.  She.  Is.  HI Larious.  Lauren Cooper is my favorite character, followed closely by Nan, the Swearing Gran.  Do yourself a favor and watch her and love your life.  "I'm Not Drunk Enough" is pretty funny too.  Seriously, she makes my life awesome.  I ain't even bovvered.  Lauren reminds me of this girl, Hannah, that I met traveling and it makes my heart smile.  :)  And... I want to move to England.

Last night I had quite a bit of good fun playing at Craig's Cruisers with Crystal and a herd of wonderful homos.  It was TONS of fun!  We played laster tag and I made a new 10-year-old friend named Valerie who asked me if I had dreams once.  Seriously.  I told her I was a teacher and she asked me if I had dreams, as if I'd given up on them or something.  I told her I still did.  It was... poignant and thought-provoking.  After two games of laser tag, the boys doing three turns on the go-carts, and playing tons of crappy video games, we turned in our tickets for crappy prizes (a bunch of army men, a couple dinosaurs and a parachuting ninja) and went to Steak and Shake for dinner.  I'd like to go on record saing that Steak and Shake is the gross.  After dinner, we went back to Adam/Crystal/Charlie/Todd's place and hung out on the porch for a bit.  Lancelot came out of the bathroom where we'd locked him to rotect the house and protect him from Markey and charmed everyone.  He is the best dog ever in life.

What else?  Oh, I spent some time with my pal Rob today and it was excellent.  We got ice cream at The Dairy Store at MSU, then walked around campus a bit and capped off the day by watching the first half of the pilot of Battlestar Gallactica, which I must admit I enjoyed.  I mean, I kind of knew I would but I didn't want to because the last thing I need in life is a new obsession.  Catherine Tate and PeggJongg (DON'T EVEN ASK) are quite enough for now, thank you.  I'd never been to The Dairy Store before and let me just say that that was some damn good ice cream.  I pretty much had a tongue-gasm with every buckeye (I got vanilla ice cream with chocolate shavings and buckeyes in it and daaaaaamn, it was good).

I must live life here to the fullest, since I'll be leaving in two months!!!
