The one about things to be thankful for

Happy Thanksgiving, y'all!  I have a great deal to be thankful for this year, namely the fact that I have a job (and one I actually enjoy, no less), a nice place to live, and some GREAT friends whom I love dearly.  My sister's getting married next summer, so that's exciting.  Oh, I have a super cute dog.  I've managed to retain most of who I am an not conform to the evils that exist in Miami.  I go to a great church.  I have a great room mate.  All of these things, and so many more, are blessings in my life.

I'm not spending this holiday in Michigan, unfortunately.  However, instead I've decided to eat my feelings with four Thanksgiving dinners.  I had one last Saturday at ETC (see my other blog for details).  Tonight I've got the "official" one with Melie's family (I'm still spending the holidays with Garcias, they're just not MY Garcias), tomorrow at Ali's house (tofurky will be served and I'm intrigued...), and Saturday at my upstairs neighbors house for more of an international flair.  Don't judge.

Something else to be thankful for this year is Kellan Lutz who plays Emmett Cullen in the Twilight movie, which, at this point, I've seen twice.   Number one, Emmett Cullen OWNS my SOUL.  He is so beautiful... In the books it's all about Jasper but in the flick he's got these crazy eyes that I can't dig, and this awkward hair that's slightly inappropriate.  But Emmett?  Pretty, pretty, pretty.  He can dazzle me ANY day.

Overall, the movie was pretty accurate to the book and I felt satisfied by it but I still have a few issues.  Namely, the person who chose the wigs for the film.  WTF?  I could have gotten a better wig for Jacob and James from a damn stripper's dressing room.  Serioulsy.  There were GOD awful.  Just terrible.  Also, I kind of forgot that you LOVE Edward in the first book, even though Jacob is clearly better.  His magic isn't really revealed until book two (the chapter called "Paris" if you want to be specific...).  But Edward is kind of a stalker... When he shows up in her bedroom and is like, "I've been watching you sleep for two months" I was like... Stalk, much?  NOT okay.  The love between them is sick... like not healthy, sick.  Whatever.  That's my team Jacob coming out, I guess.   Hmm... what else?  Oh, OBSESSED with the Rob Pattinson songs on the soundtrack and at the end **SPOILER ALERT**when he's sucking the venom out of her wrist to his own song and he's all into it and, like, can't stop... It was a little bit hot.  I'm not gonna lie.  I also loved the way they made him sparkle--that was exactly how I pictured it.  Nothing else really was as I saw it, except for that.  So... yay.

Fun news--I went out with Anya last night and met these two ladies who are in a sketch comedy group and I'm going to join them when they get started up again.  I'm really excited!  They said they need someone who can do impressions and who is "tall and skinny with dark hair" and I think that 3 out of 4 ain't bad.  I'm really excited!  How cool would that be to do?  They write and perform all their own stuff, which is what's so cool about it.  SNL, here I come!

Okay... I've gotta take Lancelot out and head to dinner number two.

Woot!
