The one about (fake) winter

Dec 02, 2007 19:30

Yesterday might have been my favorite day in Miami.  I woke up with that special feeling--that feeling you get in December, when you wake up and you just feel Christmas around the corner, and it's nice and crispy cold outside and you just want to stay inside and eat soup and read and look at the snow outside.  Except that I live in Miami, so almost none of that was reality.  Tiffany and I decided, however, to pretend.  And pretend we did.

Tiffany made THE most amazing soup ever (munster cheese and beer is ALL you need to know  about it), and we pretended it was cold out.  I had to run a few errands in the morning, but I still pretended it was cold.  After the soup of joy, (and Christmas music!) we headed out into the fake tundra to get some Christmas gear--gifts for T's cousins, a tree, some Christmas cards, stuff like that.  Then we came home and watched Home Alone and finally got around to decorating the tree (I used my sweet lifetime of fake tree skills to put it up before the movie) around midnight.  It was a good day.

Today I went to church and worked... and watched the last two episodes of season 2 of Veronica Mars, and Love Actually and Whale Rider.  And cleaned a bit.

Anyway, here's something a bit more exciting...

This is why we need fake winter.  Because there are CHRISTMAS decorations on PALM trees.  It's not even right.

And who doesn't love the Nativity on a balcony?

I saw a HUGE Rubbermaid at Target and had to get inside...  Don't judge.

OMG... My hair looks UBER cute.  Not gonna lie.

Okay, and finally, here's our tree!

I decided on a close up because it's actually really pretty.  The "theme" (T is all about themed trees) is blue, sliver, and white.

Another week begins tomorrow...  I'm already exhausted by the thought of it.
