I did say I was going to post at least once a week, and needless to say I have fallen behind. In my defense I will say that two weeks before the Christmas break I had to take on a new range of duties at work and I was getting home each evening exhausted and stressed out from trying to learn procedures that TPTB expected me (and everyone else in my section) to know yesterday. Bloody management. I was so looking forward to the Christmas break - eleven glorious days in which to do as much or as little as I liked...I'll give you one guess which was my chosen option :-) My bed saw a lot of sloth like activity and I've managed to finish two hidden object games on my ipad (still can't get past Log Jam L17 on Cooking Dash though)
I've got about half a dozen half written pieces that I plan to post over the next few weeks - none of them are time sensitive - even my minor rant about ill chosen Christmas presents can wait.
Anyway it's about 11.35pm here in Sydney. Not long before it's 2012...and depending on your beliefs, this time next year we'll all be dead or reborn as hippies.
I have followed my routine for the start of the new year. Made sure my bed had crisp clean sheets (this time - brand new, bought yesterday), coloured my hair, slipped on something a little more dressy than my usual slob gear, lit my favourite candlebra, the telly is on Channel Nine awaiting the Sydney Fireworks broadcast and I've poured me some fine wine in my best glassware.
Just because one doesn't party in the New Year, doesn't mean one doesn't have rituals.
So to all my readers and followers - Happy New Year!
