So I am studying like crazy for final exams and today I thought I would try to use my powers in ordinary situations. So people always say law school is supposed to make you think like a lawyer and I was worried/elated that this wasn't happening to me. But today, after a long study session, I decided to try it on the bus home. And ironically, this is what the first sign on the bus said:

"Ride Right." <- Seattle Metro's new campaign to amke riding the bus safer and more enjoyable

Metro's Code of Conduct can be summed up with the following common-sense guidelines:

* Pay the right fare <- If you overpay, you are in violation!
* Respect other passengers' privacy <- Isn't this the best part of public transit? Free voyeurism!
* Do not cause safety problems

* Use headphones <- I think they meant don't use headphones! Ironically, I was listing to my Ipod when I was scanning the bus. Besides the fact that it's a bit draconian to ask people not to listen to music through headphones on the public transit, this is saying the complete opposite of what it's supposed to. Also, this is the City of Music... Shame on you Seattle Metro!

* No eating, smoking or littering
* No alcoholic beverages
* Do not harass driver or other riders
* Do not lie down on the seats
* Respect transit property
* Use Metro services and facilities for transportation purposes only

Anyone in violation of the actions below may be asked to leave the Metro vehicle or facility, and risk suspension of their privileges to use Metro transit or enter transit property.

Given all those rules, I could probably busk on the bus as long as I was trying to get somewhere as well.
