Well, the knitting is coming along exceedingly well. I'm about 3/4ths of the way through the blue wrap, about 2/3rds of the way through the scarf, I've done one pair of socks, and am halfway through the second.
I'm not sure about my knitted feather lace scarf. It's very repetitive (8 row repeat). Although that's not bad, and the scarf looks good, but I'm getting really bored with it. I'll do my best to persevere with it though.
I've started on another cross-stitch piece for my Goddaughter, but I don't know when that will be finished. No idea at all. I've no way to move around in the chair when I have my feet up, and I am quite fidgity when doing cross-stitch.
It's much like many of the other crafts I do, you see.
This thing that's happening with my ankles/feet prevents me from doing most (if not all) of them. If I'm downstairs sitting, I've got to have my feet elevated on a stool, or I end up with very puffy feet after a couple hours.
I do beaded crochet - which I do in one of two positions - either sitting on the floor with my ankles together and knees bent, or sitting on a computer chair in front of a magnifying glass (for the tiny beads) with my feet crossed at the ankles underneath the chair.
Most times I sit on the floor to do regular beading, but with my legs crossed.
I usually sit on a chair (or sofa) with my feet tucked underneath me for cross stitch or tapestry, or I sit on the floor just like for the beading work.
I sit on the kitchen step to do my wood carving.
I sit on a wooden chair to do machine sewing with one foot on the "pedal" (electric sewing machine) and one foot underneath the chair. Plus I stand up to cut patterns out.
I kneel in various positions to do my marudai (japanese braiding) work. If I'm card braiding, I usually sit cross-legged on the floor.
I sit in a chair to do spinning - with one foot in front of the other, working the "pedal" (that's not really the name for the thing I put my foot on).
So I'm stuck - I can't do the majority of my crafts - except for the knitting. The problem is now, I'm trying to complete what projects I have going on with the knitting now as fast as possible because once I'm back to "normal" with the feet, I have a feeling I'll stop knitting - period. It's driving me mad not being able to do anything else, and I'm sure I won't want to touch the knitting once I can do the others again.
There's just so much to do...
*sigh*
I'm off to do more knitting.
Later.
