An NPR Post-Game Lol

"After the game, I was crowded up against Pittsburgh wide receiver Santonio Holmes, trying to get my microphone close enough to capture the sound of his voice without the echo from the bowels of Raymond James Stadium. ("The Bowels of Raymond James" sounds like lesser Dickens.)

Holmes was exulting in his greatest day as a professional when his 4-year-old son, Nicori, turned to me and said, "I got a dog." The kid was bored by all this football talk and wanted to discuss dogs. "What kind of dog?" I asked. "It's a big dog," the kid said, adding, "My old dog was a tiger dog, but my new dog is a big dog. He's big but he doesn't bite." Four feet to his left, his father was discussing such trivialities as what it means to be the Super Bowl MVP. Yes, Dad gets a Cadillac. Yes, that fourth-quarter drive probably earned the Holmes family millions come contract time. But Nicori has a new dog"
