I bought my
Indie Coffee Passport at
Manic Coffee, where I usually go for a coffee break. My regular is the Americano or Clover. I'm not so fond of their mugs, as I find their thickness unpleasant, but the coffee is excellent and the people are very nice.
Water is freely available from an urn on the condiment counter, the washrooms are in the basement and there is enough space for a group to sit around a table. They recently got wifi a few months ago, and the atmosphere is warm and relaxed.
My second stop was
Red Rocket Coffee at their new store in 154 Wellesley St. E. It is a tiny, tiny little space with only room for eight to sit inside and a few chairs (and a doggy water bowl) outside. It is nice and bright, since they have the corner unit. They've got something called, "Dirt and Worms", which is apparently a hot chocolate with gummy worms. I stuck with an Americano, which came in a tall mug and was very tasty.
It is a bit out of the way for me, but it seemed like a nice little neighbourhood spot. Very friendly, free psychic reading available and somebody has got fantastic handwriting! No idea about the washrooms, since I was too shy to ask. There is wifi with a password, but I also picked up some random unprotected signal.
Today's stop is
Crema inside Freshii at 53 Bloor St. E. Excellent Americano, which I got in a paper cup. My voice is unreliable today and I forgot to specify for here, but it's an Ecotainer. They also have a Clover machine and manage to pack everything into a space the size of a walk-in closet.
This is a very busy spot at lunchtime, but the table turnover is high, since people have to get back to work. The people-watching is superb, since there is so much traffic. Wifi here comes from Freshii. Not the most relaxing spot, since everyone seems to be in a rush, but there's no problem with hanging out for a bit and the high chairs are pretty comfy.
