'm writing under severe caffeine deprivation, so you'll pardon the typos. See, our coffee pot broke. Not the whole thing, just the little glass decanter. Or carafe. Or whatever it's called. Anyway, it means we can't make coffee, which is something we like doing on Sunday mornings (and any mornings ending with "day"). So rather than make tea (like I usually do), I decided to see how I long I can go without my artificial stimulant. So far my headache is migrating into my neck, and I'm fairly sure I've lost the ability to speak in whole sentences. I'm like my own science experiment.
Tonite, we're going to see wrestling.
Yeah, I said wrestling. For those that don't know, my husband is a wrestling fan. He started watching it as a young child and I guess just never grew out of it. You'd be amazed at the things he can remember about it. He could tell you the main event for pretty much any WWF or WCW (and probably ECW) pay-per-view that has ever been shown. He knows the history, the backstage drama, and probably who sews the spandex together. You know how some people like baseball stats? Well, Scott likes wrestling factoids. He's like wrestling Rainman.
So, when we found out that WWE Smackdown was coming to Cornville, we talked about getting tickets, but never got around to it. Last weekend he just so happened to see a drawing for wrestling tickets at this restaurant we eat at sometimes. He entered his name in and lo and behold:
We win four front row seats.
That's right, we'll be within spitting distance of the WWE Smackdown Superstars. We've had no luck finding anyone who wants to take the extra tickets, but I guess that's ok. We'll have four seats to ourselves, and from what I've seen at other wrestling events, we'll need all the B.O. buffer we can get.
So, wish us luck. Maybe someone will take a chair to the face in front of us.
