So I went over to celebrate the new years at my folks where I was fed a lovely dinner of roast beef, potatoes and broccoli- which I made myself eat all of since I was feeling kinda full and didn't know if I could eat all the meat and potatoes on my plate.
So after dinner I got up to go use the bathroom since Dad and I were planning to go see The Spirit later.
And that's when the wonderful dinner I had just ate ended up in both the sink and the toliet.
I still have no idea what happened. One moment I was fine, the next I can't stop being sick. It took me nearely 20 minutes to finish (well maybe not but it totally felt that long). When my stomach finally calmed down I managed to drag my ass to the family room couch and lay down. Since the movie was out we ended up watching the new Muppet Christmas special that Dad and taped.
Despite the lack of Frank Oz, it was really good. I was surprised and had prepared myself for something dissappointing. But it was actually really good, and I was impressed by the star line up that they got- including Uma Thurman
After that Dad drove me home, where I took a graval and ended up sleeping from 10pm till 7am.
I figured I'd be fine this morning. At least I thought I was until I opened my mouth and out came the voice of a strangled gargoyle. I sound horrible and my voice lasts about ten seconds before I'm forced to whisper.
Needless to say I called into work. At first my boss sounded all caring and stuff until she realized I was not the Katelyn that worked during the day but the Caitlin that worked during the night. She still sounded caring but I could hear the frustration enter her voice as soon as she realized she'd have to find someone to cover the least popular shift possible.
I know she still cares but it kinda stung. I mean, I'm rarely ever sick plus I emailed her just last week warning her about the fact that if I ever got sick (guess I jinxed myself) that she was short on people trained to work nights that could cover my shift.
Ah well I already feel like crap, I'm not gonna feel bad about being sick. I mean how the hell can I manage the night shift, including answering emergency calls if I can't freaking talk!
New years eve was fun. We played "Apples to Apples" and watched very funny you tube videos. Including this one which Chrissie watched three times in a row cause she couldn't stop giggling at it:

then I came home and snuggled the kittens and spent New Years day watching both the Coroner Gas Marathon and the That 70s show Marathon - I LOVE KITTY and then well you know what happened that night.
Right now I'm considering heading back to bed. Whenever I wake up I think I'll probably end up ordering some Swiss Chalet chicken. Originally I was gonna go out this morning and do some grocery shopping (since I have like NO food in the house) and get the new bus pass, but that is obviously not happening today. I would rather Subway but it doesn't deliver here and I don't feel up to leaving the house.
Fingers crossed I feel better tomorrow. I hate to loose another night of pay and I know how hard it is for my Boss to get someone to cover for me.
Anyway back to bed I go, any feel better vibes would be apperciated.
Happy Second Day of 2009 all.
