Kirihara was right there, ready for the return. Slamming the ball, he smashed a great crossshot to the back of the court, wanting to draw out a good rally.

"Hold back? What's that? I don't even know the meaning of it!" Kirihara retorted,

"That's the spirit!" The redhead grinned when he landed back on the ground. Just in time for Kirihara's smash, too.

Sengoku managed to reach the ball in time. He returned it with a strong backhand straight across the court.

Thank god for his boxing training-- Sengoku was able to sprint to the other side. He wasn't expecting that feint; Kirihara really was a good opponent, abusing his weak spot like that. But this was only the beginning. Barely missing the ball, Sengoku returned the ball back into Kirihara's side, aiming for the base line.

Kirihara dove for the shot, just barely connecting with his racquet. The sound of the ball bouncing off the racket was dull; he definitely missed the sweet spot, but atleast he'd hit it. The ball arched carelessly over the net, just barely on Sengoku's side.

Sengoku was too far from the ball-- he was by the base line and the ball barely bounced higher from where it landed by the net.

"Love-fifteen!" Came the score from the referee. One of the ball boys (Tooyama was assigned to be a ball boy) quickly passed through the court to retrieve the ball by the net as Sengoku went back to the service line.

"Not bad, kiddo," he said, bouncing the ball again. This time, it was a regular serve, instead of the Kouhou.
