According to goodreads, I read 91 books and graphic novels this year. There were a few audio book/radio dramatizations in there as well.
That is just the list of unique, first time reads/listens.
I could not begin to tell you the total number of reads if I included re-reads and fanfic reads.
It would just be a big number.

I also made an attempt to do a targeted read list.
Here's how I did:


1. A book based on a fairy tale.
Beauty by Robin McKinley.

2. A National Book Award winner.
Listened to a multi-part adaptation of several Earthsea books, that included The Farthest Shore by Ursula K.

LeGuin, which was the 1973 National Book Award in category Children's Books.

3. A YA bestseller.
Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children by Ransom Riggs.

4. A book you haven't read since high school.
The Hunger by Whitley Streiber.

5. A book set in your home state.
(cheated a bit on this one and read something set in Portland, Oregon) Stumptown Spirits by EJ Russell.

6. A book translated into English.
Exquisite Corpse by Penelope Bagiue.

7. A romance set in the future.
Help! My Boyfriend's an Alien ! by JL Merrow and Josephine Myles.

8. A book set in Europe.
Capital Crimes edited by Douglas Stewart.

9. A book that is under 150 pages.
The Green Man by JL Merrow.

10. A New York Times bestseller.
Morality for Beautiful Girls by Alexander McCall Smith.

11. A book that is becoming a movie this year.
NONE

12. A book recommended by someone you just met.
Incursion by Alexsandr Voinov.

13. A self-improvement book.
Change Your Life Without Getting Out of Bed by Sark.

14. A book you can finish in a day.
A Bear Walks Into a Bar by Eden Winters.

15. A book written by a celebrity.
