holy crap! this day was crazy.
I woke up pretty early, made my self breakfast, and set off both the smoke alarms in my house. I drove from bloomington to indy, blasting the pixies' Surfer Rosa (namely the song "Break My Body"), and Wire's Pink Flag. went to the brewpub, my old job, to ask for work, and immediately picked up a shift in the dining room. I'm still working on getting full time, but part time at least is happening. I also got a reference/good chance to go work at baxbeaux's, where sam adams works. I'll be going in there tomorrow.
goodbye, pizza magia. I was at the wellington with a ton of my peops tonight, and talking to kyle about whether or not I should actually go back to bloomington saturday morning to work at pizza magina. he was like "do you want me to just call in sick for you?" and I said "sure, fuck it." so he called them up on his cell phone (mind you, from a loud bar), and said "Hey. I just wanted to let you know that Hale Keuthan has syphilis and is in the hospital. He can't come in to work anymore." whoever was on the phone told him they'd tell the management. Done, and done.
I ended up getting into a late night game of texas hold'em poker. $5 to buy in. I was up to like $15 at one point, but I ended up walking away with $6. still, I didn't lose anything. the highlight of the game was my friend kevin, who tried to pull my chair out from under me a few times. he failed, and I succeeded in pushing him backwards in his chair twice. this all resulted in kevin trying to throw me into the lake, and me getting a lot of grass stains. I burned him with a cigarette in self defense. kyle got involved, and his shirt was ripped to shreds in the struggle. it was a high-stakes wrestling match.
so yeah, goodbye to minimum wage, goodbye to trifling bullshit in bloomington. hello to a living wage, and people I enjoy hanging out with.
oh, and to my bloomington peops, I WILL be around.
