What I Did on My Summer Vacation

One of my shift keys doesn't work, so please bear with me.

The week I went back to work, I had a difficult time dealing with stress. It started with anger, which was ok to work with, I just needed to guard my mouth. The last day, which I originally had off, I came in for a half-day and realised that I couldn't do more than x. I couldn't run around and stress myself out. It was shown over again during the week I had off, that it was a blessing to not be at work; however much people were wringing their hands about it. I was quite ditzy.

Most of my time at Irish Fair was spent in the social dance tent. I left for a demo at the performance dance tent, and came back. I failed to catch any shows which didn't come to that place. This was not by design. Between being on hand for classes and ceilis as well as the shift I pulled at the table, that was all she wrote. It would have been different if I'd been there on Sunday.

Sunday I packed and left for Milwaukee. It would have been a wonderful thing if I would have left 3 hours earlier...with my cell phone. Since I didn't seem to have the phone number of my hosts, I had emailed them, and was hoping for a phone message, as well as trying to time things so that we were in the same place at the same time. Lost a bit of time trying to use a calling card with a public phone; that was an excercise in futility. Lost a bit of time doing that as well. Then I took one wrong turn on the way to their house, and had a difficult time reading the street numbers. They were not home, so I started my wandering over to the U. I wasn't exactly sure where I was going, so I asked directions once to get to the U, and then I parked further away from my desired building than I had planned. I missed the lot by about 10 minutes. There was nothing for it, but to go back to the house and get comfortable in the car while I waited for them to get home. That was 10ish, and they got home around 12mn. I had dozed on and off; swore when I saw the lights out. Fortunately, they had only been home 10 minutes, when I knocked on the door.

Because I was the only one who was taking classes, our schedules didn't mesh until the end of the day. When I was leaving for my afternoon class, they were preparing lunch. The same thing happened with supper. I snacked my way through Monday, and swore not to do that again. I took a class in Sean Nòs singing class, and a set dance class. There was dancing at an Italian Restaurant on terra cotta floors after class. It had virtually nothing I should be eating. Split something I was deluded by, and got by. It took a bit of time to sort out the best way to get partners on a regular basis, but by the end of the week, I was doing ok.

THis is to be continued. The best parts are yet to come. I am tired now.

EDIT: It was 11pm, rather than 1pm, when I stopped writing.
