i just read about redjenn's "bella" and here i am shedding actual tears for a woman and a kitty i don't even know.

i know she's important to someone who is important to me -- and that's enough.

i am not the best at offering words of comfort, and clearly they were not asked for, but i have to say that every stage in losing a pet just plain sucks. i'm sorry she has to go through it.
