[Φ interesting finds and singing news]
O-Oh my god. I just found the entire discography of one of my favourite Chinese singers, who sang one of the songs I'm singing for the audition. Her name is Cheer Chen (陈绮贞), with five albums, a few demos, and a few singles, plus one concert album. She is AMAZING, and I love her style, which is somewhat laid-back and totally not mainstream pop but still amazing anyways. The only bad thing about this discovery is the hosting site the discography is on. Oh MU, why do you only let me dl one single/album at a time?
Still giving myself headaches over the second song choice (god it's haaaaaard) and trying to not be so nasal (no luck there, really), but I've been trying hard with the little time I've had to prepare (less than a week). I'm actually very nervous, ahaha, but it's pretty stupid being nervous over something that hasn't happened yet. I've realised that I'm probably a sucker for punishment or something, because 太聪明 (Too Clever) is one hard song disguised in the form of a laid-back one. It tests my breath control/support, my high notes, my timing (because, uh, audition is acapella)...aahaha.
I know I said I might just upload a recording (totally not polished or mixed or anything) of 太聪明, but today has been totally not conducive for recording, so I might do it tomorrow, but, uh, no guarantees.
I really hope my audition fright thing won't affect my performance on Saturday, or I'm SO screwed.
Oh, and next week is like x3 of singing-ness, with the audition on Saturday, Anni's birthday+karaoke thing on Tuesday, and us cousins going for karaoke on Thursday. I shall sing my fill!
