Girl on fire.

I was up till two this morning reading Catching Fire the sequel to The Hunger Games. HOLY CRAAAP. WHY IS MOCKINGJAY NOT IN MY MAILBOX RIGHT NOW?!?!?!

Damn. I'm so glad I decided to wait to read the series but I could not have survived waiting for the sequels to come out.

Ugh. I have so much love right now. Which is good because I needed a book series to be THIS EXCITED about. I miss the excitement surrounding the Harry Potter releases (which I progressively cared less and less about due to declining quality, IMO).

I remember when my sister and I read Twilight long, long, long before they were ever popular. The first book is not terrible. I've read plenty of books prior to Twilight that were way worse and had even more doormatty heroines. In the first book I liked that Bella was actually written like many teenagers I've come into contact with. I was happy she was the one pushing for a physical relationship. At the time of reading Twilight I did not know if there was going to be sequel. As soon as I heard New Moon was going to be released I was excited. I thought I was going to get character development! Maybe Bella would actually wise up!

Yeah. That obviously did not happen. Still my sister and I read the sequels. When Breaking Dawn (finally, it is over!) was released we were flying back from Disney World and I did NOT want to be spoiled. I saw read all these damn books. I better not be spoiled. So as soon as we arrived in the Orlando airport we ran to the bookstore and hoped they still had copies.

Indeed they did. On the flight back my sister and I traded off reading the book. Though, seriously, I could barely put the book down. It was so beyond ridiculous that I could not believe what I was reading. Needless to say I had a fun time reading the book because it was SO RIDICULOUS. I am way excited for the movie because I have no idea how they are going to film it.

What this brings me to, is how I'm excited for Mockingjay because it is apart of an excellent series. I'm excited for a quality book rather than crack or just the need to finish the series.

It is a good feeling.
