Hello all. No, this LJ has not been abandoned, although I'd totally understand you thinking so. Basically I've had some major life changes recently, the big one being that I became a mother, and, well, everything else just fell by the wayside

James does go on a bit sometimes in the columns but he's a lot funnier than he gets to be on the show most of the time. And of course he's limited by length most of the time so his occasional rants are much more succinct. XD I actually find it quite amusing that his style reminds me of Bill Bryson despite their feud, breezy, humorous, and very readable albeit in James' case obviously quite British.

I love all their challenges too! I think my favorites are the all the crap car ones, just because they all fail so badly and seem to have a great time doing so.

As for the DVDs, I'm THIS close to breaking down and getting a region-free dvd player because Amazon UK has all the old series on dvd for very very cheap. On the other hand, if you do that kind of thing, I can recommend a a very good torrent for seasons 1-13 (I've made my way up to season 5 but feel a bit guilty, hence the region-free dvd player...oh, and the extras/outtakes). Also, James May has another series out with this guy called Oz Clarke in which they travel to France, California, and around Britain getting drunk and generally being stupid. It ridiculously amusing and is available in its entirety on a combination of YouTube and Veoh. I highly recommend it!
