Yes, Merlin. Let's open the ominous box which has probably been hiding behind the ominous bookcase in the library for a good reason. Colin has a lot of great faces in this episode. Oh the charm.
Arthur: Mer-lin....
Merlin: I-uh.. I was cleaning up.
Arthur: Were you pleasuring yourself in my bed.. and around my chambers again? I don't know how many times I've-
Merlin: I'm so, so SORRY. I got carried away.
Merlin: *restrains from sucking Arthur's finger* Not in front of Gauis, not in front of Gauis..
I love how Arthur immediately points to his bb. He knows him too well. (Remember 2x12 when they dragged Uther around the castle and things on the floor kept hitting his head? Oh Merlin, you giggling doll. Also, scowling, bald Uther = funny.
Arthur: Oh Merliiin...
Merlin: :3
Merlin's having a BALL in this epi. Cracking up at the expense of others. Glad you can still find amusement in your hectic life, bb.
Goblin seeing into Morgana's sooooul. Idk but. I would think Morgana would suspect Merlin confiding in Gauis about her evil-ness, so why is she denying it? Then again, I guess she can't be too sure, so she's being cautious. And it's not like she's going to straight out admit it. *op is having conversation with herself*
Anyway. Gauis slapping Uther's baldness around, OH THE JOY. Were you having fun with that, Richard?
I AM A FIVE YEAR OLD LITTLE GIRL. Because I laughed so HARD in this scene. Apparently fart jokes appeal to my humor. Or maybe just fart jokes in Merlin. I just love EVERYBODY'S expression in this scene.. Gwen looks petrified, Uther looks humiliated, MERLIN.. Oh Merlin.. And Arthur. All just priceless.
Merlin's face. Or Colin's, I mean. The sadness. And Arthur's. He has to listen to daddy, though he loves his wifey very much.. Oh Uther, why is it so preposterous to think that Gaius is possessed when you've dealt with worse? Oblivious king is oblivious.. But Arthur suspects something, oh yes. Because he knows his wifey more than anybody (except the whole "he's a magical bamf" bit.)
..Couldn't Merlin just use his wizadry to open the lock? Hmmmmm.. And yay for Merlin/Gwen! Why couldn't they have continued this bff friendship throughout the series? I kind of miss it.
See? Arthur knew something was fishy. Too bad Goblin!Gauis was a step ahead of him.. Donkey Arthur for the win? I quite liked the interaction between Arthur and Gwen in this episode, even if it was just this donkey bit and the ending. It wasn't the usual angsty 'we can never be but I will admire and love you from afar + UST + longing and loving glances from across the hall, ETC.' Kind of tired of that, to be honest. So this was a refreshing change.
OH MERLIN. He is so giddy after hearing about donkey!Arthur. Too bad there wasn't a scene where Merlin saw him in donkey form. It would've been adorable if he had rubbed his ears.. then again Arthur probably would've pummeled him afterward.
Randomly.. Colin's smiles, his happy face. I love it just as much as his teary-eyed, woobie face.
Merlin/Gwen teamwork! Getting rid of the Goblin. The end. Hope you learned something from this episode, Merlin.
Aaaand he's milking it. Having way too much fun there, mister.
