That's how I felt when I first started looking for work too :( Frustrating isn't it? I applied to a handful of places, and never got called back, except for one, and that wasn't until almost a MONTH after I sent the application :O Also it was a really lame job. Dishwashing at a seafood restaurant only two nights a week, for a couple or so hours a night D: But still, it was a job, and it got me some experience. Every little bit helps.)
The key is, just do what you can to look interested in the job and show that you're good/available for it. One thing my parents have always told me to do, is call the places I sent applications into, to inquire if the job has yet been taken. It shows that you take the prospect of possibly getting the job seriously.
Usually available jobs browse for possible canidates for around two weeks (assuming that the former person of this occupation has given the workplace a two week's notice or quit). So just call them a few times a week. I'd say around 2 calls, per week. And space them out. You want to look interested, but you don't want to be a pest XD;
