Where'd you go this weekend, Liz?
or, as they call it: NYC. :>
_maldorora was in the tunnel with me too.
we ate ukranian food for lunch! FUCK YEAH SCHNITZEL, POTATOES AND SAUERKRAUT.
aah, snowy death. i believe this is the church with all the 9/11 stuff in it, considering it's right next to the millennium hotel, across from ex-WTC.
i honestly don't know what i would take pictures of if i were to ever go to a city without some form of trains. you see, i love them so much.
view from cha-an, a tea house/dessert den/japanese food joint.
delicate little flower arrangement. :>
AH SHIT SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITIES
at cha-an, i had some delicious assam tea, but as declared on the menu, it was VERY STRONG (and i normally take my tea super strong, so that should say something!) def. needed the sugar and cream that accompanied it. they served in this beautiful mikasa cup and saucer.
i think assam has the most beautiful color of all the teas i've had. its like drinking a..... RUBY or something.
i also had jasmine tea ice cream topped with a delicately perched toasted sesame seed sugar swirl.
earlier in the day _mal and i had taken a trip down to the financial district to stop by century 21 and snag some deals. you can see how much money i saved & i only bought three things. :D;;;
as a side note, i think the above savings top anything that i've bought so far at loehmanns. NEW RECORD.
after shopping and tea-ing, we headed back to the room to get ready to head to brooklyn and see the tindersticks!
_mal is all goth and i am trying to drool on her hair like a moron.
GRAB YOUUUUUU
GRAB YOUUUUUUUUUUUU
OI TAXI, TAKE US TO BROOKLYN! where the trains are broken and the hipsters roam the streets like zombies slurring the songs of, "skiiinny jeaaaaaaans, myyyyyspaaaaaaace~, obnoxiousssssss colorrrrrrrrrsssssss~"
ok mnhtn, brb; mees you ;__;
sing it, stuart!
the show was really good, but i got a bit irritated because it took them approx. a year to get on stage after the band before them was done. :T
hell yeah, i need to work for THIS law firm.
_mal and i went to café des artistes (see
here for more clarification on the significance of this restaurant) for brunch. i felt underdressed because i did not bring any business casual clothes on this trip, but was comforted some time later when some clueless french young'uns entered asking to be seated alone & away from everyone else. aside from that, bitter old people (which were our other co-patrons; i'll peg them as doctors) are also just a bit unnerving to me.
but FUCK, the hash we ate was DELICIOUS. i ate it ALL and felt disgusting afterward because it was so tasty-fatty.
aaah, l'hôtel des artistes
we were walking back to st. marks and _mal was like, "NECKFACE" and then i was like, "OMG WHERE"
AAAAAH THEN MIKE CAME TO DRINK WITH USSSSSSSSS
omg rude :>
"whoa wtf is that over there?!"
we went to a bar down the road from our hotel called angels share (or something like that) which was REALLY GOOD (and, for those who follow my twitter, is where i had the jasmine infused rum with elderflower liquer, grapefruit juice & tonic), but then, after a few there, we went to the RUSSIAN VODKA ROOM and got our hxc expat soviet on.
they had this set of vodka shots you could order & pick six of eight (i think) home-infused vodkas whose giant glass jugs were perched upon bookcases above that evening's piano player. we had: mango, strawberry (delish!), preach/apricot, garlic/dill, horseradish (YUCK, but _mal loved!) and cranberry.
who is that mike is conversing with?!
_mal and i ate caviar... with all that extra stuff o_o! we were totally caught off-guard by those extras and the metal spoons that accompanied the plate.
but hey, at least it tasted good.
THEN BACK TO ST. MARKS so mike could get a hat and then head back to NJ!
then i got this men's fashion magazine in one of the japanese grocery stores up on our street, and i think this boy is SO ADORABLE, but _mal strongly disagrees.
dude, whatever. his lips are SO lucious-cute.
i mean, srsly, his eyes are SO puffy-precious.
NYCS TRAIN TRACKS: let me show you them.
astor place...!
sunday we went up to the cloisters and got our medieval death/devil art on.
ah, precious prince!
visions of the apocalypse.
emoooooooo. :(
"ah shit don't stab me dude"
hey baby.
the full picture.
AND THAT'S ALL! damn that was a fine weekend. :>
actually, here is a picture i drew today. i stayed home and slept because i have a cold. :(
EDIT:
ah, i forgot this! DOO DAH DOO DOO!
