Top Five Jpop Release of 2009 (mid year edition)

Because it's a mid year edition, I'm only listing my top five release thus far this year.

5. Hi-Fi CAMP - Hitotsubudai Namida wo Kitto (single)

Hi-Fi Camp is a relatively new group on the jmusic scene. They debuted in 2008 with their single, Kizuna. I discovered their second single, Koi / Beautful and fell in love with them. I've been following them closly since, and keep hoping that they're going to release that fabled album sometime soon. Definitely give them a try if you see them lying around somewhere. Think of their sound as a cross between Arashi and GReeeeN.

4. Ayaka - Yume wo Mikata ni / Koi Kogarete Mita Yume (single)

Ayaka makes this list simply because she's awesome. And you really can't have a jpop list without her in it. With the release of Yume wo Mikata ni, ayaka also announced that after this year she'll be on hiatus due to an illness. Yume wo Mikata ni is a typical Ayaka track with her strong voice being accompanied by an uplifting tune. But it still manages to knock my socks off making me pause for a minute when it comes up on my shuffle.

3. Do As Infinity - ∞1 (single)

Infinity Ichi is Do As Infinity's come back single. It's probably one of the better singles to have reached my ears as of late. I think I can echo all of the fans when I say, "I'm so glad they're back!" Do As Infinity is one of those legendary groups that everyone hears of when they first get into jmusic. They have a very solid pop leaning more towards rock sound with their latest single, ∞1.

2. Angela Aki - ANSWER (album)

I cannot explain how truly excellent of an album this is for Angela Aki. It's almost as if she blew the pants off of us again, very similar to how she did when she released her debut album, Home. Angela Aki's music tends to be very orchestral in tastes, largly due to the heavy piano that is present in all of her songs.

1. Fukuhara Miho - RAINBOW (album)

This album is without a doubt one of my favorites for the year. Fukuhara Miho is incredibly talented as is shown on her singles that were released before this album. While the album itself doesn't have more songs that "pop" out at you, its still very much worth a purchase.

If anyone wants an upload, I'll be more than happy to upload. Just leave a comment and ask.

As an addedum, I might do my other top five list later today or sometime this week. I made this one up off the top of my head while at work. So if there's any mistakes or anything that I think can be expanded on, I'll do so at a later date - if I remember.
