false alarm...almost
Around 1-ish am, climb into bed when…
*fire alarm goes off*
*without thinking, grabs the EAS tutorial readings from the floor and walks into the hallway*
me: Stop ringing, stupid alarm!
mom: What are you yelling about?
*trudge down to the lobby; yay, doors are super hard to open in the stairwell because of some vacuum/suction(?) type thing…don't know what else to call it…it's when there's one door open and all the air goes "whoosh" in the stairwell*
*finds a sofa, tries catching up on silly readings*
*firetruck/people arrives, more people show up from upper floors, readings are boring me to sleep, mom won't stop with the "what's going on, what's going on?"…*
sidenote: because every time the fire alarm went off and it resulted with a false alarm, fewer and fewer residents would leave their suite.
*random guy walks in from south lobby entrance*
random guy: There's a lot of smoke in the south stairwell!
me: ……
me: *returns to reading EAS stuff*
*first non "false alarm" ever in the five odd years I've lived here*
*garbled messages kept coming up on the intercom; 95% of the people there couldn't decipher whatever the heck they said*
*fire alarm is turned off and we end up being instructed to stay in our units until further notice*
Poor Peter…fire alarms almost always seem to go off on his watch. ^_^*
Nya, apparently, the hot water pipe in the south stairwell burst. Don't quite know the rest of the details nor do I know how they fixed it *since it seems to be fixed now*, but, meh. *shrugs*
