long update
Hmm… been a while since I last posted… no other reason than pure laziness, to be honest. XP
After watching the "World Baking Cup" (it's from 2002 and Japan won first place!! Their stuff was just awesome!), I've been somewhat motivated to either go and reread Yakitate!! Japan or to work on my Y!!J costume. =P Since, for some reason or other, a good few of us Kikiwai employees like it, we really should cosplay it some day. ^_^ (You, too, Sakuma!)
I really miss working downtown a lot… and because of that, I end up making trips there and working "for free", but it's fun so it's all good. ^_^
Oh! And you know how it's always said about Spadina streetcars "either there's none at all or a whole bunch at once"? Try over ten in a long line. Because of the "vacuum" as the driver put it, he had all of us get off at the Kensington Market stop. Never seen so many streetcars at once. =P No real idea what happened though; only saw the first of the streetcars stopped at the Dundas pickup point, with police and ambulance cars parked just outside of the streetcar lanes and saw someone being taken from the streetcar and wheeled on a stretcher to the ambulance. Yeesh, you even had some bystanders (and there was a lot!) videotaping what was happening. =/
The recent shipment from Japan was good, manga-wise, though some of what I wanted hasn't come in. Picked up GB 26, FMA 8, Full Moon 7, and mankin 14 (I'm ever-so-slowly collecting the mankin volumes ^_^*).
I stopped by Fabricland today and finally found the perfect material to make Jing's jacket! Maybe I can make/wear it for Halloween after all. ^_^ But bear in mind that I've never made a jacket/coat before… And I also finally got membership for Fabricland. I had been told I could only get it in September originally, but the woman helping me told me I could get it today. *laughs* She said I'd need it since I'm always going there. ^_^
Went to Ikea recently after finally convincing kaasan that I needed a taller bookcase. Well, let's put it this way: I need a footstool to reach the top shelf. =P It's only over 6.5 feet. ^_^ Only bad thing is that I need two extra shelves and the particular ones I need, size and colour-wise, are sold out in all Ikeas in the GTA. ~_~ Still, no more putting books in front of books… for now. ^_~ Also rearranged the kitchen a bit, adding my old (small) bookcase (big one replaced little one… lamp thing was moved but I keep forgetting where it is now and keep reaching for the area where it used to sit ~_~) on one side and a new corner shelf on the other. Pretty useful stuff. Though, not entirely thrilled kaasan wants me to make covers for some of her little appliances like the juice maker, coffee maker, etc. =P
Kaasan also dragged me shopping with her last weekend. Ran into Pauline at Banana Republic. Never even knew she was working there. ._. (The random meeting was a close second to running into Monica while dressed as Tsubasa!Sakura and still being recognized. XD) Good timing we were there, too, for there was some discount thing for friends and families of employees. Mind you, if she hadn't been working there and hadn't given that to us, I probably would have dragged kaasan out a lot sooner than we did. ~_~ I guess we felt almost obliged to buy something. ^_^* But the prices! *swoons* I don't mind spending that kind of money on manga or other little animanga things, but for clothes, I don't really find it worth that much. x_x
Not sure what's going on with the Yuugiou movie thing anymore, but my Ryuji costume is okay to wear but not complete. I'm missing the necklace, the earring, the belt, and still have to put in the black pattern on the bandana. Oh, and I'm missing the D.D.D dice. Other than that, I'm ready to go. =) I'm aiming to at least get the headband thing done on time since it's more obvious than say the necklace or earring or belt (or dice).
Recently downloaded a few Janne da Arc albums to see if I was missing any songs. I wasn't. And aside from that, after really listening to a few songs again, the number of Janne da Arc songs on my playlist swelled to a large amount. Recently been starting to like some Psycho le Cemu songs; they vaguely remind me of Janne da Arc for some reason. ._. However, Heaven's Drive still holds its place as my fave JRock(?) song. ^_______^ And, aside from obsessing over pnish and their dancing goodness, also finally was able to get the Tamaki Nami PVs I wanted and all the dancing goodness there. =D
Other than all that, the only other thing that happened since I last posted was Chimine's lil surprise bday lunch. ^_^ Steph and I cooked lunch for her, though I'm so sad that the okonomiyaki was a bit of a failure. The yakisoba did not look right, but the taste wasn't bad at all. The cake and apricot jello thing was good, however. =) Not a total waste but it was too bad Chimine had to be the first to taste my first try at making okonomiyaki. ^_^*
