I think regardless of who's elected we are going to have a draft. The back door draft is pulling in people who have been out of the military and forcing them back into the military.

draft ( P ) Pronunciation Key (drft)
n.
A current of air in an enclosed area.
A device that regulates the flow or circulation of air.

The act of pulling loads; traction.
Something that is pulled or drawn; a load.
A team of animals used to pull loads.
Nautical. The depth of a vessel's keel below the water line, especially when loaded: a river vessel of shallow draft.
A heavy demand on resources.
A written order directing the payment of money from an account or fund.

A gulp, swallow, or inhalation.
The amount taken in by a single act of drinking or inhaling.
A measured portion; a dose.

The drawing of a liquid, as from a cask or keg.
An amount drawn: ordered two drafts of ale.

The process or method of selecting one or more individuals from a group, as for a service or duty: a candidate who did not pursue the nomination, but accepted a draft by the party convention.
Compulsory enrollment in the armed forces; conscription.
A body of people selected or conscripted.

It is a draft though. Forcing them to stay in the armed forces or sending them to Iraq. They could end up being sent to Iraq anyhow.

I support the draft. I feel like way to many rich white kids have gotten out of doing there own patriotic duty. If it happens, I'll be more than willing to join the armed forces volunterily.

It is kinda scary how quickly it got out of comittee within 48 hours and then on the house floor. Legislation is never adopted that quickly. I've been keeping tabs on the draft since last year.

If it means keeping the peace in Iraq and Afganistan wars the United States started for a president you support I can't understand why you wouldn't support the draft?

I'm sorry I'm not trying to sound offensive.

i'm not offended. I like having these convo's with you because you know a lot..and it makes me think. I learn new stuff too lol. As far as the draft goes...I just don't think that it is necessary at this point. WWII was an instance for the draft. This is not WWIII...yet. And until situations become completely necessary, I think a draft is out of line. Just my opinion.....
