Title: Duncan Delaney and the Cadillac of Doom
Author: A.L. Haskett
Final Thought: Surprisingly Unfunny

When good ol' boy Duncan Delaney's rich mama decides he needs to get a job, he decides to leave his small Wyoming town for L.A. in hopes of making it as an artist. Soon after his departure however mama isn't too happy and wants the wayward son to return but he refuses. It doesn't take long for a whole slew of characters from his hometown to start showing up in Los Angeles; his mom and her companion, his ex-girlfriend and the poor fella she's been stringing along, and Duncan's crazy best friend all re-enter his life in dramatic style. To make matters worse Duncan has fallen in love with a troubled stripper and finds himself an unwilling participant in a war with a maladjusted lesbian who considers the stripper her gal.

This book was not as humorous as I expected it to be. Infact, it was kind of depressing. I also had a problem with how the women were presented in the story. There was only one gal in the entire book who wasn't totally hateful (I did find her rather weak and pitiful though). Lesbians, especially those of the Dykes on Bikes variety were presented as downright psychotic. I found it all a bit annoying.
