Being a bounty hunter is hard work and Stephanie Plum might have her toughest case yet. She's supposed to bring in a old fella who's so beloved around the neighborhood that she looks like the bad guy for having the audacity to even think he could do anything illegal. But he has and far more than first thought. Ice cream and candy store owner Uncle Mo looks as if he can do no wrong. But when he's arrested for illegal possession of a gun and skips bail, Stephanie has to hunt him down. Uncle Mo seems to have disappeared into thin air and nobody seems keen to help her. Between finding dead drug dealers all over the city and continuosly being threatened by a group of masked nutjobs, Stephanie is figuring Uncle Mo is involved and finds out far more than she cares to about what he likes to do in his spare time.
