Title:
Boy: Tales of ChildhoodAuthor: Roald Dahl
My Grade: B
This memoir is a small look at beloved children’s author Roald Dahl's school days. Meant for kids / pre-teens, this book doesn't get too much in detail about his life and is written in a similar style to his kids books. He had some rough times; dealing with death, harsh punishments, and scary school authority figures. You certainly get a glimpse on who he modeled certain characters after for some of his books. His school matron at one boarding school he attended was obviously the inspiration for the Trunchbull from Matilda! Poor guy, no wonder he ended up so weird.
