Title: Lord of the Flies
Author: William Golding
My Grade: C

For Banned Books Week

Very slow moving story about a group of English school boys who are stranded on an island after their plane crashes. Yes, this is a classic and seems to make just about every "best of" list, but I found it kind of annoying. I can't put my finger on what exactly made me uninterested in this book. The dialogue was mighty repetitive perhaps? There’s only so many times who can read about the need to hunt for meat and to keep a fire going before you just hope they all kill each other or starve to death. I was so happy when this book was over.
