I didn't enjoy this book very much. If it hadn't been under 100 pages, I probably wouldn't have bothered finishing it. The grim, cynical story isn't helped much by the disturbing (and I thought rather grotesque) drawings that accompanied it. They had the style of political cartoons, and as it turns out, that's apparently what the artist is best known for. I'd talk about the story a little bit to explain why I didn't like it so much, but I can't... because I don't exactly know why I had such a negative reaction towards it. All the characters were so unpleasant I'd just rather not wonder why. While I do plan on reading more Will Self, I must say this is not a good start.
