Title: Drop Dead Gorgeous
Author: Jennifer Skully
Final Thought: Could Not Get Into It

Madison O'Donnell is so certain she's going to die when she turns 28 that she's desperate to fall passionately in love before her 28th birthday which is just a couple weeks away. She wants just once to have that feeling before she goes that she finds herself easily wooed by a handsome stranger named Richard. However, Madison's boss T. Laurence Hobbs or T. Larry as she likes to call him doesn't trust the new man in Madison's life and decides if she wants to fall in love, it might as well be him. He may be starting to go bald and is significantly older than she, but he's up for the challenge of winning her heart from "Dick the Prick."

There was also a secondary storyline involving two co-workers in the office that T. Larry and Madison worked. I didn't care for it. The woman, Harriet was so hateful and while she was supposed to be sympathetic at times I could not find any sympathy for her. Her personality deficiencies were too strong and she was so bitter. She blamed everyone especially Madison for other people in the office treating her with no respect. The fact that she's a heinous bitch wasn't a big enough reason for her I guess. Zach her love interest irritated me despite being much more likable because he didn't find his spine until much later and by then I could care less.

I found the overall writing style a bit off-putting. I enjoyed Skully's previous books that I've read but for some reason I really didn't like the writing or the characters in this book.
