I have an assignment due tomorrow. So of course somehow I managed to end up back at a journal I haven't used in years. (The long story is that I went to www.anime-planet.com to check the forums, posted something about Japanese, ended up looking for an old LJ group with Bleach character meanings on it and wanting to post something - which I didn't

But I couldn't, no time these days. So alas, I sit, doing Heroics and Karazhan runs that burn it down in 2-4 hours, yay, badges... Sometimes I wish I would've joined one of those guilds back when I had the free time for that kind of playing, but then I probably would've been raiding with a bunch of un-fun jackasses instead of people I like, so oh well. Malfurion for life it seems!
Very much looking forward to WotLK and leveling to 80 with my friends though. All the new 5-mans and the new multiple 10-man raids, along with the revival of Naxxaramas as an entry-level 25-man sounds like loads of fun. Seems I'll be playing WoW for a while, yet. No real interesting in moving on to the new games coming out when I still have this much fun with WoW.
*much respect for leveling PvP* I have a hard time imagining you having the patience for that, so I can see how you'd wanna keep them there after all the hassle. x_x;

Whatcha been up to these days anyways (other than WoW)? :P I was so over Kara when I stopped playing and I've always been a bit too chicken to do many heroics (crit crit crit 0.0; /stops shooting -ignite ticks- /pull aggro /die). xP I'll probably come back in the holidays or if my workload is a bit lighter next semester, perhaps I'll be back in time for the expansion. :D
Mebe I'll level up that lock I started on your server. xD I hate leveling though... and yes... pvp was a hassle and involved much swearing and some tears (especially leveling my priest) and later on resulted in me dragging my mage out and splatting people who were meanies (or crying enough that a friend would come babysit ^_^; ). I have a 40ish priest leveled up on a pve server though, and iirc it was really easy compared to pvp, just the whole horde thing and not knowing quests will be hard :P

I've taken the quite boring and long winded (perhaps appropriate?) interest in economics! Save, Save, Interest, Invest, Secure, Acquire, Sell, Retire. I've found it's a rare quality to have the self-discipline to not spend money, but instead save it so you can later actually afford more important things. I say rare because everyone I tell this to thinks I'm instantly boring and silly to even try. I'll show them.
Annnd... I drive a car I hate, that has over 200k miles on it, so I feel like it's going to just explode on me at any time. But it was given to me for free, so can't complain I suppose.
I'm an Uncle now, in case I didn't tell you that before. Sebastian is about to turn a year old. :) His birthday lands on Mother's Day (United States) this year, how adorable.
Blah blah blah, some things never change.
I've got characters all over the level path, 9 on Malf, 1 of every class. As of right now... Mage: 70 | Warrior: 70 | Hunter: 70 | Druid: 59 (Currently working to 70, Resto-Druid or bust!) | Warlock: 31 | Paladin: 26 | Shaman: 12 | Rogue: 7 | Priest: 1 (xD). And yes, leveling on a PvE server--especially after they boosted exp gain between 20-60, is decidedly much easier than PvP.
BTW, did you level Holy-spec on your Priest, PvP!? >, < 'Cause that also would'a been back before they gave you guys a spelldmg bonus to your healing gear! Oyyyy. People should've taken you on runs to get you gear on principle alone...
We're currently in the pre-planning of restarting our old guild when WotLK comes out, with a specialization on being a leveling guild to just get from 70-80 and focus on the gearing up of all our players before we worry about the bigger raids. 5-10mans only as we carefully recruit people. In every guild experience our core group has had, careless recruiting has been the central issue to why the guild eventually fell apart, in our opinion. The need for more players to take part in 25-man content on a regular basis should not supersede the importance of only playing with people you A) Like and B) Are capable. If they are only A or only B, they bring down the raid and thus the guild and thus the fun.
Raider Cap: 50 (Tentative), any other players above that cap will not get priority raid positions or opportunity to roll on gear. It'll take time to get to that level of players who all fit what we want, but better to raid the right way every time, than to raid just for the sake of raiding and corrode the guild and everything it stands for.
But we're not hardcore, promise! Just we're tired of falling apart due to morons and bad policy. :) We may never see end-game, but we're gonna kick ass and have more fun than most people at whatever we _are_ doing!

So how's that speech sound? I gotta pitch something to the people when WotLK hits that makes'em go "Wow! Just what I've always wanted!". Before we put them under the scrutiny of our app status and most likely end up booting their sorry asses before they make it to full-membership.
Hope you're doing well these days, too. :)

Bartending sounds like it would be fun! Especially if you can learn to do those crazy movie style things (or maybe those are really only in movies?) Your job sounds better than what I was doing around this time last year though working at Wendy's (desperation for money) but after about 3 months of that I left and eventually started work where I am now at Sovereign. I even have a fancy title of "Customer Services Consultant" (read: everyone's bitch) but it's actually a cruisy-as awespiffy job.
As to economics... I don't see anything wrong with it. Heck, if I didn't have to borrow money to live I'd be doing the same thing... it's ok though... I worked out that if I get a $40k (after tax) job, it'll only take 10 years paying 10% of my income to pay it off... Shouldn't be too hard right? X_X;
Did I level holy-spec... no. No. No. No. xD I did on the pve server but not on the pvp one. I went from 1-30 shadow, 30-45 holy, 45-70 shadow (with a holy stop at 60 pre-BC of course). The new healing spelldamage thing is actually quite insanely good. Too bad her gear wasn't that great.
Whenabouts is WotLK due out anyway? (I know you keep track of these things...) I want to have a look at that new faction they put in last patch, seems like a lot of good stuff that'd help to level up next expansion... that and I need to refill up my quest log with completed quests before it comes out >=D (gotta get a head start as a pvp squishy).

Official price and release date have NOT been announced by Blizzard. In this case, the price and release date were determined by the GameStop e-commerce staff, (comprised of overpowered warlocks), using a combination of 6 and 20-sided die.
Important: If the price decreases between the time you place your order and the release date, you will receive the lower price. Woot! If the price increases you will be given the option to either pay the higher price or cancel your order. However, if the price increases by more than $1,000, many of us here at the corporate office plan to retire and purchase a small Caribbean island. You are welcome to visit us at any time. Please bring pizza, chocolate and cold beverages.
Note: We vehemently oppose “ninja looting” therefore your credit card will NOT be charged until your order is processed for shipping. Pre-order now. Power to the players.

Answer: Nobody knows, Blizzard is keeping it a secret. But November of '08 certainly seems right on the money, seeing as WotLK is in closed beta right now, as far as I've been able to keep tabs on it, perhaps a little sooner.
Yeah, I was gonna say... Holy... Leveling... Ugh, no.
As far as the new 2.4 patch content... It's a flood of money, that's what it is! They're making everyone filthy rich! O_o I made 2.3k gold in about a week just doing dailies and selling Spellcloth for about 60g/each. They added a ton of daily quests on the new island that all give about 10g and they're cake to accomplish. So you just do them everyday, on your multiple 70s if you're like me and boom, $$$$$$$. That said, I still don't have my Epic Flyer because you can only grind daily quests so much before you get bored to tears. So now I just do them occasionally and float around 1500g, still hoping to get to 5k soon though. The dailies sadly wouldn't help you leveling from 70-71 though, unless you didn't do them at all until WotLK is already out, not sure if this event with the dailies will even still exist in its current form once WotLK hits, though. =/
The gear for Exalted with Shattered Sun Offensive is quite good, though. There's a necklace for DPS and a Healer version that gives you a proc buff based on if you're Exalted with Scryers or Aldor, it's pretty nice. On Vale mine is a chance to do about ~300 extra damage on a spellcast, but it can crit!
As far as twirling bottles and stuff, hell yes I'd love to learn how to do that too, eventually. They have real bars where that's exactly what you're expected to do at Casinos and especially in Las Vegas.
I'm basically everyone's bitch at work, too, come to think of it. xD Cleaning crew basically just means... You don't cook or serve food, so you do everything we don't have time to do because we're too busy cooking/serving food.
Here's to mixing, serving and entertaining customers in the future, though!
Also, yes! As long as the interest on the loan isn't gonna bite you in the ass, paying off in a 10yr span only using 10% of your income seems very manageable. I don't know how important credit rating is in New Zealand, but I know in The US it seems to be stop No.1 for me as far as what to work on.
Hope to see you in Northrend. :) Even if it's on another server. xD

I was on about 2k-ish I think when I stopped playing... though... maybe the prices will be dropped for expansion. Or gold will be more abundant (poor farmers).
On the bright side of the loan thing, it's interest free as long as I live in the country so at least that part of it won't bite me in the ass. :P It kinda stinks to think that I'm gonna end up with a loan the size of a decent annual income but I suppose if I manage to pull off the above average pay it'll be worth it (read: yeah, right).
