Likewise, I've talked to him once or twice. I included him in the filter when I made the announcement of Orihime's death, and though I postemptively re-filtered it so Kurotsuchi dissenters might not see he was privvy to Seireitei information, I...kinda got a gut feeling he's for real.
Ise-fukutaichou's got a point, though. His betrayal of Aizen to come to us invites a lot of ire I ain't sure we've got the manpower--or frame of mind, frankly--to handle right now.

I do not think we need to proceed immediately. He's made a request to us; I should hope he has factored in the possibility that it will take us time to deliberate. The situation is rather confused right now, and I appreciate your personal feelings regarding Inoue Orihime, Captain Abarai. This shouldn't be your main concern at the moment.
[Illuminati FIlter]howls_at_starsJune 25 2009, 20:53:04 UTC
I just hope this 'meeting' he's on about doesn't go badly; he sounded kinda concerned about it.
And...much as I appreciate your...appreciation, lieutenant, Hime wouldn't want everything to grind to a halt for her absence. She wanted to achieve peace between the Arrancar and the Shinigami. If anything, I kinda feel I owe it to her to really give this a go.

If you say so, sir. I did not mean to assume on any private matter--my apologies.
Stark-san seems quite set on his venture, but he is also sensible of the eminent danger involved. I suppose we can do little but hope he comes through intact, and can perhaps meet with Captain Hitsugaya and myself later.
[Illuminati FIlter]howls_at_starsJune 25 2009, 21:11:23 UTC
Wha--? No, don't apoogize; I wasn't scolding ya.
If you're gonna have a meeting with him, I'd like to try and tag along if I may. Orihime trusted Stark implicitly, and swore he cared for her greatly in return. However she was also convinced Szayel cared for her, which is something I could never get behind. I want Stark to look me in the eyes and say what he's said, 'cuz if he was duping her all along, I'll rip his spleen out.

With my apologies again, sir, this is why you should perhaps not be involved quite so early. I understand this is your usual, frank mode of expression, but threats of bodily harm are better left out of this equation. You were close to her. Your viewpoint may not be as objective as is necessary.

[*he's shocked anybody called him on it*]
...Maybe you're right. I think I'm a little more screwed up right now than I wanna own up to, actually. I'd prolly be more a belligerent hindrance to things than anything at this point. I'll leave it to you and Hitsugaya-taichou, then.

Sir-- Abarai-san--
I think you are holding up remarkably, considering the circumstances, and it is a laudable sentiment you present in wanting to carry on Inoue-san's ideas. Captain Hitsugaya and I will try to do this, as well. It would be better for all of us if we could come to a peaceable resolution.
You will be the first to hear my report, then, along with the Captain-Commander. Take care of yourself.

I'm sure it'll knock me flat on my ass come the weekend, but for now I gotta keep my head. Abrasive as it was, Kurotsuchi-taichou made a decent enough point; one girl's death can't bring Seireitei to a standstill. She'd be mad at us for letting that happen anyhow.
I appreciate all the work you've put into this; keep me posted.
And...thanks. You ah...you can call me that if you want; titles don't mean a whole lot between friends, I think. So...however you prefer works for me.
[Private to Renji]lady_of_booksJune 26 2009, 05:21:29 UTC
For once, I agree on that specific account. Your vice-captain has a good head on her shoulders; these are the times for which we exist, Abarai-san.
I will continue to use the appropriate title in official contexts, but this is a private conversation. You may also leave the "lieutenant" if you wish.

That she does; I'm glad she's back. I know you guys work your asses off. Heh, recall I sat in that seat for two and a half years. You guys have tenure there that I lack, but...I know. Kyouraku-taichou an' me are pretty lucky guys.
Sounds like a plan...Ise-san. Thank you again. I'll be in touch.
